Review: This book is brilliant. It's perfect for Waldorf teachers, homechoolers, and students alike. It is chockful of simple, haunting pentontic songs to sing or play on the recorder. It's excellent for recorders, frankly, and some can also be played on the Native American flute. Brien Masters researched very unusual songs, from India, Wales, Australia, even more places, and even an ancient Manx song! So this book would be helpful for mainstream music teachers for multicultural music. The only criticism I have is that this book would have been better off if it had been spiral bound, so one could easily play the recorder while looking at the book. But it is definately worth buying. The range of music can be played by second graders to high schoolers. Give it a shot!
