Rating: Summary: Get this straight!!! Review: Alright, I love this series and I have all the books in it but some people need to get the facts right! Towsend Pride is not one of Wonder's foal's, he is her sire! Also, Townsend Prince is not Townsend Pride's sire, he is Townsend Pride's son! Also Cindy is just too fake! No 13 year old can control a full-grown racehorse, I have ridden a few retired thoroughbred racehorses myself and I know that they are not a piece of cake! Else the book is pretty good except for the fact that no horse can be as fast as Glory, and everyone looses a few! Well, I wish someone would change the facts in this book!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic!! Review: I really loved this book because I love horses and mysteries. But, it seems that Joanna Campbell has changed her writing style. I like it, though. I have read all the books in this series and I just ordered this one. It was fantastic! This book was about how Glory, a wonderful horse that Cindy McLean calls her own, is on a race winning streak. But, after he wins a race by an impressive 10 lentghs, people start getting suspicious. Then Glory tests positive for drugs and when Cindy and her friend Max stay in his stall one night Cindy AND Glory almost lose their lives. This was book and great book about the very special bond between Cindy and Glory.
Rating: Summary: I Love These Books! Review: I thought the storyline of this is good. It gives you a glimpse of all the factors of racing. Even if it is negative. I figured all along that it was Jim and Joe involved in the drugging. It made me mad when the crowd booed Ashleigh in her races! That was when I wanted the mystery to solve right away. I noticed some minor mistakes in the book too. One is when they all first got to the track, a comment was made by Samantha, saying that they would be running tomorrow. But they never did. And another was Sammy was there for the morning workout, but then they mentioned she showed up, finally, to Belmont, later on that afternoon? Dates and times got screwed up in here. But nothing that is going to spoil the outcome of the book. Also, Ashleigh mentioned she was going to give them a surprise after the race. Even though I now what it is(just from reading the back of the book to #17) I still think they would have given off the surprise.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Save TB!!! Review: I've read this book so many times I think I know it off by heart. I still love it, even though some of the details are a little far-out. I just can't believe that Harper Collins is considering ENDING the TB series!!! I started reading these books when they first came out, and, even though I'm now 19, I still love to read them! Glory in Danger was an excellent book, really a great read!!!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic!! Review: Okay, Glory does race a good race. Then they found out that Glory was drugged. But what I don't understand why Lavinia can come and say something that Cindy doesn't know about. And I wish Mike would teel Clay what they are doing one of these times. Dr. Smith was telling Cindy something about one of the drugs and they have know clue where Jim is. And when Jim said he thought the bags were in the barn and went to get them he had the perfect oppertunnuty to drug Glory And when Max and Cindy were revuing the evidence how could they have forgot that Jim could come in and drug him any time. Jim could have drugged him right after the race to so he would come up posotive. I think they should think more in the book.
Rating: Summary: Credibility? Review: Overall this is a nice Thoroughbred book that shows an insightful view of the negative side of horse racing. But, there are also a few points, like the time flaws, that got out of hand. First, it is almost unheard of that a thoroughbred farm will drive a prize racehorse halfway across the country. I don't even think they drove racers around in the old days -- they used trains. The faster the better. Usually they put the horse on a plane, not a trailer. The horse has to get to the track in pristine shape to run the race. Planes are fast, solid, and less prone to flinging the occupants around. Just that Glory was driven to the track took some credibility away from the author. Also, exactly why was Shining acting up in her race? If she wasn't drugged, what the heck was wrong with her? It was never explained why Shining was doing what she was doing. There wasn't even a thoughtful speculation. She was just suddenly rearing and banging around. And what right did Cindy have to be critical of Ashleigh for the way she handled Shining? And, at the very end, the part that really got me, was when the hypodermic BROKE. Hypodermic needles don't break unless they get crushed between a cement floor and a pavement roller. They are plastic, a material that can't be broken by just causually dropping it on the floor. If a vet was using a glass hypodermic, I'd seriously be wondering where they got that. They only use glass ones for play use in soap operas, which means that they haven't been made in a very very long time. There were other little things about the horse racing and the races that bothered me, but aren't worth mentioning here. Other stuff, like: what was the name of the stakes race that Glory was disqualifed from? It would've been nice to know. Of course, the writing slated the bad guy as obviously noticable and flat. Oh, he has cold eyes -- he's the one. And why does Cindy always say Glory is hers? If I remember correctly, Glory is Mike's horse. So, when Cindy says that she's lucky Ashleigh is riding Glory, exactly who else would be? She's the owner. Credibility? I don't know if I can believe half the stuff the writer put in this book after comparing it to what I know about the industry. Maybe I overrated it, but overall it's a strong second book of Bently's Thoroughbred.
Rating: Summary: Great Mystery! Review: This was a really original book. No other books in the series was ever like this one. I loved how Cindy went to great lengths to protect her beloved horse. Who the person was that was injecting Glory with lethal shots was even better! It was really unique and I will always read this book over and over again.
