Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Together They are a Speedy Pair
Review: My eighteen month old son and I discoverd this story in a Little Golden Book box set. The first edition was published in 1946 and the illustrations have a notable charm from that era. The story was written in the third person with the characters speaking in whimsical rhyme. Even the taxi has an excitable personality as it "wiggles" and "jiggles" through the traffic "bouncing" and "jouncing" its passengers along the way. My son's favorite part is when the Taxi-driver Man must honk the horn to get through the traffic. This is a very fun story! My son was hooked after we read it the first time. And now I am looking for a first edition!
