Rating: Summary: The boys are back in town...... ;P Review: After volume 1 I did enjoy "Clamp School Detectives", but I wasn't extremely impressed with it. I just thought it was *cute*. However, with volume 2, it develops the characters of Akira and Suoh more, taking the spotlight away from Nokoru, and as much as I love Nokoru, it was nice to see the other characters fleshed out a bit more. :D Even though the boys do look almost exactly the same, they're personalities really set them apart. Nokoru is the woman obsessed-slacker-genius, Suoh is the martial arts pro, goal focused, and serious one, and Akira is the young innocent master chef whom looks up to his Senpai's with adoration. The stories in this one are much better too. Especially the story that involves Suoh's search for a girl he saw in the Wisteria. If you even remotely like volume 1, you will LOVE volume 2.! Its just as much fun, maybe more, and the art work is gorgeous. Its more than a guilty pleasure. God Bless & *Enjoy* ~Amy
Rating: Summary: This one gets a bit serious..... :D Review: From the first 2 volumes we've come to expect light and fluffy tales of the detective misadventures of the Clamp Elementary School Board: Nokoru, Suoh, and Akira. But in this after the first story, it actually gets serious as it goes into a back story about how Suog and Nokoura met. This is probably the best story in the whole series. While it is still pretty light and fun, it has serious and dark overtones to it as well. It was nice to see a bit of a change of pace, and a little more into to the characters as well. It makes me wish that this series was longer. I found that with each volume I enjoyed it more and more, and cared about the characters more and more. That is a very impressive feat. I never cared much for Clamp either, but I have come to enjoy several of there other works including: Wish & X/1999. So, get this volume, it is 100% worth if you even REMOTELY enjoyed the last two volumes. :D God Bles & *enjoy* ~Amy
Rating: Summary: The CLAMP School Detectives Review: I love this series, it's very cute and different. I've read the entire series, and even though there are only 3 books there is still a lot of story. (especially in the third book where you find out how the eldest boys met) I also love how this book overlaps with "man of many faces", which is all about akira-san. I recommend it, its even cuter and funnier than this series. (not that all clamp's works aren't great, lol) I've been told it also overlaps with 'Duklyon High School Defenders" (these series are all based in the Clamp school universe), but i dont own that series! This book is really cheery, one that can easily lighten your mood!
Rating: Summary: Umm...it was okay....I guess.... Review: I'm sure all of you have at least HEARD of the infamous Chipmunks, even if you have never watched the show. Well, they have come to the world of manga in the form of three elementary school boys at the prestigious CLAMP Academy. Nokoru Imonoyama equates to Alvin. They are both ladykillers, lazy, creative(in order to get out of doing something or doing something more extragantly than it needs to be), and both lead their trio. They are the most popular, although the others have their groupies as well. Suoh Takamura is Simon's counterpart. Calm, cool, and collected, both have to suffer through their leader's outrageous schemes and attempt to talk sense. They are smart, kinda bookish, really. And they are the tallest in the group. They even have the same favorite color--blue. Suoh's hair is blue, and Simon always wears that blue shirt. Akira Iyijun (I can't spell his name) is Theodore, just without the baby fat and fur. An excellent cook, Akira can almost always be found cooking something; Theodore can always be found eating, even when he is the one cooking. They are shorter and younger than their brothers/friends. It's just kinda creepy how many similarities are evident between these two series. That doesn't mean C S Detectives is bad--as a matter of fact, it is very good. I just had to point out this little tidbit of information.
Rating: Summary: Sherlock Holmes ain't got nothin' on these boys! Review: If you've read X/1999, then you know that CLAMP has created a giant school/community in which some of their stories take place. That academic society is where the story of the CLAMP School Detectives takes place. The residents of this community are the students, teachers, staff, and their families. The school holds kindergarten through college and graduate levels, making it a very BIG school. And nearly everyone there is a genius or prodigy on some level. Each section of the school has a group of students leading it--a Student Council (nothing like the Student Council in "Utena" though). And the heroes of the story are the Council for the Elementary Division. Nokoru Imonoyama is the leader and oldest of the council, and the youngest son of the richest, most economically powerful family on Earth. He is also a ladies' man and a perfect gentleman, as well as an eccentric slacker. Suoh Takamura is a martial arts master with a personality that's as cold as a glacier. And Akira Ijyuin is the treasurer with more than a few secrets of his own and tricks up his sleeves. These three boys are immensely popular, even with the older girls. So how do the best of the best challenge themselves? By starting a detective agency! And they are very successful with it. Of course, since Nokoru is running the show, most of their clients are inevitably beautiful girls of all ages. This is funny, sweet, cute, astounding, goofy, intellectually-stimulating, and just plain fun! CLAMP fan or not, I suggest you get this book as soon as possible! I haven't been able to put it down since I bought it!
Rating: Summary: A cute, light, and fun read. Review: This is a manga for those looking for a break from those with heavy subject matter or ones with complicated emotions. This is a manga for those young at heart. :D Anyone with a fun-loving spirit and a non-cynical attitude should love "Clamp School Detectives". I read this manga because my brother purchased it and had me read it. It took me a while to read because I lost it. And at first I didn't think it was anything special, but once I'd finished it I LOVED IT.! And okay, in reality the odds of finding guys like these, let alone 9-11yrs boys is extremely far-fetched. But even with that in mind, its still a lot of fun. Of course I can't say their the HOTTEST bishounen I've seen in a manga. haha They're little boys, so I they're not even close, but they are very handsome. :D The manga follows Nokoru Imonoyama, Suoh Takamura, and Akira Ijuyuin, the three members of the Clamp Elementary School Board. They begin solving crimes and mysteries to help Damsels in Distress. And this manga follows their "mini" cases. I hope that in the 2nd volume(which I will be reading shortly), they will be developed a little more character-wise. :D And that the mysteries will be harder to solve as well.! :) So I *hope* you enjoy it.! God Bless ~Amy
