Summary: A fantastic text to help you improve your walk with Jesus!
Review: Max Lucado has once again presented the world a means of help in understanding how to improve your Christianity. This book is like a step-by-step guidline on how to better open yourself to the world and walk as Jesus walks. My Sunday School department is presently using this text as a study guide with the Bible, and we enjoy it thoroughly. I HIGHLY recommend this to any church or person who wants an insight on better living your life for Christ and the Father in Heaven!

Summary: Healing for the Troubled Heart
Review: There are times when you wonder how God could love us. We are so very human. This book starts with the premise that God loves you just the way you are, but he refuses to leave you in the state he found you in.

Jesus felt no guilt.
He didn't have any bad habits.
He had no fears.
Jesus wasn't afraid to die.

If you are a Christian you will at times feel very troubled. As if you are changing and sometimes you just want to stay the same. You reach a comfortable place and then your heart seems troubled.

Max Lucado says God is just remodeling your heart.

"What if, for one day Jesus were to become you?"

What would you be like? Would anyone notice a change in your behavior.

The Contents Includes:

A Heart Like His
Loving the People You are Stuck With (A Forgiving Heart)
The Touch of God (A Compassionate Heart)
Hearing God's Music (A Listening Heart)
Being Led by an Unseen Hand (A God-Intoxicated Heart)
A Changed Face and a Set of Wings (A Worship-Hungry Heart)
Golf Games and Celery Sticks (A Focused Heart)
Nothing but the Truth (An Honest Heart)
The Greenhouse of the Mind (A Pure Heart)
Finding Gold in the Garbage (A Hope-Filled Heart)
When Heaven Celebrates (A Rejoicing Heart)
Finishing Strong (An Enduring Heart)

One sentence really stood out about Jesus Christ:

"He spent over three decades wading through the muck and mire of our sin yet still saw enough beauty in us to die for our mistakes." -pg. 6

Being like Jesus is a real challenge. It seems you can become like him in some areas and then you struggle like crazy with other issues.

It is a good thing God loves me, because I have a way to go and he is sure doing a job on my heart.

Dear God: "Do we get coffee breaks?"

Sometimes I wish Jesus was still on earth and he could
just give you a big hug. I see him that way.

By reading this book, you will figure out which
room God is trying to remodel.

I guess you can't really lock any doors, cause
God has all the keys.

Summary: Inspired a New Year's resolution - To live IN Christ -
Review: This book is inspiring. Filled with wisdom, the book reads with ease. At the end of each chapter I wanted to turn the page and read the next. I was so inspired while reading the book, I made a New Year's resolution like no other - To live IN Christ - My goal is to reach a point that I spend an entire day IN Christ - To spend an entire hour IN Christ would be refreshing - Imagine an entire day! When I reached the last chapter I wanted more. Then to my surprise and delight, Max gave me more. At the end of the book the reader will find a Study Guide which correlates to each chapter - I read the book AGAIN - this time using the study guide. What a wonderful tool! Not just a bunch of nice words, but a way to apply them - THANK YOU MAX! After reading this book, I purchased other books by Max Lucado. He is an excellent and inspiring author. Again, THANK YOU MAX!

Summary: A total EYE OPENING Study of Who We Should Be!
Review: Way to go Max Lucado! I used this book for my Sunday School class. The class has grown from about 10 to nearly 40 people. The main growth took place during the use of this book. Every page gives you a challenge of striving to live your life as Jesus did; forgiving, compassionate, giving, caring, and loving those around you. The book was a real eye-opener to all of us in the study. I now scan AMAZON and the bookshelves for Max's books. It was the first time that I had ever read one of his books from cover to cover. God is using Max! (Max, if you're reading this...Always keep your heart sensitive to the inspiration of God and keep passing it on!) If you're a Sunday School teacher or Small Group/Cell Group Leader...THIS IS THE BOOK YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!

Summary: Hard To Put Down, Good Second Time Around!
Review: When I first heard about Max Lucado it was for his latest book "He Chose The Nails" (another great one!). But when I walked in the book store I ended up getting two books and neither was the book above. I got this book and When Christ Comes. I do not regret the day I did that. Max Lucado has now become my favorite author. I love the way he puts stories in his books to make you think, and this book is too good for words. I am using it as part of my devotional because my time is few. What I really loved about this book was how Max told us to listen to God and let God love US (not let us love God, there is a difference in that!). I never thought of it, and this got me thinking. This whole book will make you THINK! I mean talk about a "what would Jesus do?" book. This one would be up there with that kind of book. This book teaches you how to live like Jesus, and it shows you that God loves you, just for you but He wants you to change daily. Pick this up, you wont regret buying it and like me,it will be hard to put it down. And dont be suprised if you find yourself picking it back up again not too long once it is done. Good going Max Lucado! Truly a God Sent!
