Summary: Ishtar & Tammuz
Review: What a beautiful book! The drawings of Christina Balit are really great, and full of magic, specially if you love the ancient myths of mesopotamia (the Akkadians and the Sumerians!)
The story of ISHTAR and TAMMUZ is an Akkadian and Babilonian rendition of an older Sumerian tale concerning the goddess INANNA and the God DUMUZI. And both stories are actually an earlier abbreviate form or PROTOTYPE of the myth of the descent of a god called CHRIST in order to rescue ADAMAS or ADAM (humanity) from his sleep of death.
Inanna, in the original tale, was also killed in hell (which is Earth or KUR) by the rulers of this underworld kingdom where Dumuzi lies as if dead or drunk. Inanna was killed, stripped (very similar to GIBSON's idea of Jesus's death!), and hung on a hook on the wall for THREE DAYS, and after these 3 days, she resurrects with the help of the GODS from ABOVE who sent her (through a Paraclit-type of "HELPER") water of life and food of life. After she resurrects, she gives these holly food and water to Dumuzi (Tammuz) who also awakes or resurrects from his state, and both of them fly from the netherworld of darkeness into the Upper Celestial World of the GODS of LIGHT.

Actually the words DuMuZi, TaMmuZ and aDaMaS could be related,...I do not know...

Anyhow, it is really easy to see that the story of Inanna, Ishtar and Christ are ONE and the SAME.
There are too many coincidences in the 3 stories. Of course, you will not find "Apostols and [prostitutes] like Magdalenes, Virgins like Marie, killers like Paul and Donkeys ridden by a God" in the ancient stories. You must see the "ESSENCE" of the 3 myths, that's where they are all the same: Descent of a God, his death during 3 days, his resurrection, and his giving food of life (teachings: "words and meaning", water and food, body and blood), and death (ignorance, blindness and slavary) being conquered!
Do you get it?
You need both things to resurrect: WATER and BREAD! With only Water you will not live. And it is very difficult to eat BREAD alone. You'll starve of dissecation.
That's why we need 2 baptisms: the first with WATER and the second with FIRE! It is the only way to get out of our state of death or ignorance.
