Review: I was given this book as a gift and have given it over and over. If there is a better book that celebrates the wonder of being a grandparent or grandchild I don't know what it is!

Review: My daughter received When Did I Meet You Grandma? from her own "Grammy" a couple months ago and it has become our nightly bedtime story. Through simple rhythmic sentences, the book creates wonderful images of everyone's perfect Grandma. The one we dream about who loves us unconditionally and is involved in our lives. It tells about the important relationship between grandmothers and children that is created through life's experiences and how that relationship is usually quite different from a parent child relationship. The illustrations bring the characters to life. They are wonderful, very colorful and entertaining for all ages. The illustrator has captured the expressions and the personalities of so many different types of Grandmas that everyone should find one they can identify with. My daughter is a bit younger than the recommended age range Amazon states, but she loves the pictures and finds something new in them each time we read the story.

As you open the book you will find all the possible names for grandma....The watercolor illustrations are humorous and full of action. You'll want to spend time just looking at all the details. The rhymes make it fun to read aloud. And just when you think the story is over you will find one more surprise and that is a page where you can put your grandma's picture and a place for fun information about her. This book will become a treasured keepsake!!! It would make a great gift for a new grandma...
