Rating: Summary: Not Potty Over "Going Potty" Review: My two-year-old daughter and I are great fans of Bear, and when she started toilet training, I debated over whether to get this book or the video. I figured a large colourful interactive book featuring all the BBBH characters facing the psychological challenges of switching from diapers to potty would be great inspiration and entertainment resource that my daughter could read while she sat on her potty. When we received the book, I was very disapointed. All we got was a small cardboard book with uninteresting flaps and difficult to use magic wheel containing a short story about Ojo going to the toilet before visiting at a friend's house. My two year old is already very familiar with the mechanics of using a toilet...we want to see all the characters explaining why going to the toilet is worth the effort of overcoming the fears and reservations toilet trainers have in learning this new skill. I hear the video is very good....you're most likely better off getting that instead.
Rating: Summary: Not Potty Over "Going Potty" Review: We have Bear tapes, cd's and books. We LOVE Bear, but we don't love this book. The story line is very specific but not anywhere as good as the plot in the TV episode "Potty Time".First, the flaps are uninteresting. In one Ojo merely moves her hands to her crotch (one supposes to indicate that she has to 'go'. And in another, Ojo holds Snowbear up higher. Boring for me and my 2 year old daughter. [There is also a pull tab which in one case lowers a stool to the ground, and in another lengthens TP hanging off a roll. Wow!] Second, where there is innovation, it is difficult to use. There is a wheel which makes it look as if water is running in a toilet & in a sink where Ojo is washing her hands- the mechanism is difficult to use, even for me. Perhaps this is book is just age inappropriate for us....
