Summary: YEAH ITS A GOOD BOOK, but is that all, only boys?
Review: Not in my world, If I wrote a book on what my mother doesn't know it would be drugs, alcohol, sex, yeah boys, but anynoumous sex videos, gossip, fights and a hell of a lot more. This is defiantly a teenager who has a quite life, most of the teenagers have to deal with a lot more than just going out with some guy and falling in love. Our life's are crazy and no matter how hard our parents try to prevent us from all that stuff we still find a way to do them. This book is not really truthful and I would think this book is about a 12 year old instead of a 14 year old...

Summary: A story of a teenage girl
Review: I teach a group of 18 eighth grade girls remedial reading, and my school librarian recommended this to me.
I read it yesterday at the gym - it's amusing and funny and sad and enlightening - it reminds me of about a million different things from my life, my history, my relationships, and it's reminiscent of all that excitement I got from my first boyfriends, my first crushes, my old friends in middle school.
Recommended highly, extremely useful for young female resistant readers. It's written all in poetry, but it's (mostly) free verse and very accessible.

Summary: the best book club book for teens
Review: Although not the best for a deep, thought-provoking, inspiring read, "What My Mother Doesn't Know" is great for a light book to pass around with your friends. Mid-eigth grade my mother purchased it for me at a library book sale and after I read it, close friends did. Soon, the book reading had started a chain reaction around the classroom. Its enjoyable- the main character has alot of feelings that most adolescents have and it is comforting to know that you are not alone. All of my friends could relate to her, and the best thing is, none of my friends usually like to read. This book was easy to understand, written in interesting short poem-like pages (i'm sure that this type of writing has a specific name, but i cant think of it right now), and although it looks thick to some, about ten people finished the entire book (using the one copy) in under two weeks....and considering how unavid at reading these people were, thats saying something. I urge you to purchase a copy, read it and enjoy - perfect for a rainy day at home or a beach read - then pass it along to every young teenager you know! I promise you wont be dissapointed!

Summary: A great book!
Review: I loved this book thru and thru. I thought I wouldn't like it because it was in poetry format but I really did. This girl Sofie is funny, smart and so much like a teenager. Changes her opinions every few seconds. Love her relationship with her friends and the guy Murphy (Robin). Loved that she was Jewish but that the book didn't make a big deal out of it. Highly recommended!

Summary: Waste of money
Review: I'm sorry, but I really don't see why so many people like this book. Personally, I hated it. It took me about half an hour to read it, and with the short poem-style writting, you can't get a feel of the characters or setting. My advice; go to the library and get any book by this author before buying any of her books. If you don't like her style, then I guess I've saved you a few dollars, which you can spend on much better litterature. If you like it, more power to you.

Summary: Very Good
Review: The book is very cute and exactly as I thought it would be. My only complaint is the margins are so large that the book is not long enough. I wanted more.

Summary: Good book
Review: This book does a very good job of expressing all of the emotions of teenage love. "What My Mother Doesn't Know" is a novel of short verses, all written by the point of view of a 14-year-old named Sophie. In the book she tells about her first 3 loves. In this coming-of-age novel, Sophie learns the difference betweeen lust and love, and also learns that you can't always trust people, even if you think you love them. The poems are really well written. This book flows; I finished it in 2 hours. Make sure when you start reading this one you have plenty of time, because you won't want to stop. I think anybody who has ever either been in love or thought they have been in love can relate to most of this book, no matter what age you are or what experiences you have had. I really suggest that anyone reads this book, whether you normally like to read or not; you'll like this book.

Summary: What my mother doesn't know
Review: This book was a little dull, in my opinion. I read the entire book in about 3 hours. Part of the reason I read it so fast was because I couldn't put it down---I wanted to see what happened next! But when I finished it, I was left with sort of an empty feeling, like "That was a waste of a few hours."

The book was okay, but I've read better. :)

Review: What my mother doesn't know

Jennie Wahl ISBN 0-689-85553-2

You are a teenage girl and you can't find Mr. Right. Then you find him but is he really right for you? That is what my book What my mother doesn't know is about. This book is a realistic-fiction book about a teenage girl named Sophie and of course her and her friends are boy crazy. Her mom doesn't know about this boy craziness. Her first boyfriend Dylan she meet from her sister friends brother. That didn't work out though. Then she meets this guy online but he turns out to be a psycho freak. Then she goes to her school dance and meets a masked man. She feels that he is perfect for her. Time runs out and she never gets to find out whom this prince charming is. So now she spends her time trying to find out who he is. He turns out to be the class nerd Murphy! So now she has some decisions to make. Will she go out with this nerd and not worry what's on the outside or forget all about prince charming?

This book is definitely for teenage girls ages 13-15. I would highly recommend this book! I think that most people would like it because; it deals with problems that you see every day. This is definitely a page-turner because, she ends a poem that doesn't really come to an end and you need to turn the page to find out. For me it was not hard to concentrate on the story because I could really relate to what the author was saying. The plot was really funny because, it is just like Cinderella! It reminded me of the movie A Cinderella Story!

This book was definitely not boring because, there were no dull moments there is always something happening. I really enjoy this genre because; it is easier for me to see in my head what the main character is going through. I also enjoyed the style of writing because, this book was written in all poems and I like reading poems. There were so many surprises in this book. The one that surprises me the most is when she finds out who this masked man is. The book is also just really surprising because you never know what Sophie is going to do next, she is always surprising you. This book is always taking place either at her house or at her school. I absolutely loved this book and I'm sure you will to!

Summary: A Great Read!
Review: What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones is definitely a book for teens and young adults to read. The moods that Sophie goes through are so true and down to life! Everyone has romances in life, but in most cases it's the first ones that you remember. It's truly amazing how all of the emotions are so strong from the first words to the last ones. Sophie's fantasy about kissing hot guys is one that many teenage girls have. This book really focuses on passion, strong emotions, and reality. I absolutely loved Sonya's metaphors though out the book. Such as, "Tears, usually I can feel them coming, feel them swirling in my chest like a swarm of angry bees." I can relate to that particular quote the most. It has happened to me many times before. Every time that I feel tears coming, my body can really sense it, almost as if it has a tear sensor or something. I loved Sonya's poem "I hate her!" Because it talks about her and her mom fighting and who doesn't fight with their mom as teenagers? When ever my mom and I fight, all that runs through my head is how much I hate her and wish for her to be gone. Then when she stays out of my life, I kind of miss her. I like how Sophie has those thoughts of why she just did what she did. It's so realistic that it gave me the chills. The feeling was there the whole book. I could relate to this book almost as if it were I who wrote it! While reading it I thought about my past "loves" and how I handled the situation. It was sort of like the way Sophie did it. This book is truly charming, passionate, heart warming, realistic, and down to earth as can be!
