Summary: A is for Animals
Review: Giving a decent summary of a pop-up book is by no means an easy task, but I can tell you at this instant that this is by far much more significant to me than most of the novels I read today.
Children love pop-up books. Heck, everyone loves pop-up books. Think of the time when you were entering Kindergarten for your first time and being welcomed by the brilliant colors and realistic pictures. I have yet to find anybody who can resist a pop-up book's charm.
"A is for Animals" actually cuts away from your usually "C is for Cow" animal books giving your son or daughter a little bit of animal diversity. How many times have you gazed into the shy eyes of a Unicorn Fish or stroked the head of a Wallaby when you were learning your ABCs? Why not give your special child that opportunity?
As far as the quality in the book itself, let me tell you that I have personally owned a copy of this book since 1993, and apart from the few pencil marks drawn on the Dolphin's nose, it has stayed in near-mint condition. Try finding another book that can hold such abuse.
In conclusion, I am surprised that this book isn't more popular. I personally regard this as one of my all-time favorite childhood books (plus, admit it, the animals are quite adorable)!
