This "do-it-yourself truck book" offers a simple task for young truck lovers: match the different truck stickers to the right truck outline in an 8- page booklet. Each of these blob-like outlines features a short (15-30 word) caption, such as: "Sharp teeth: The enormous mass excavator scoops up earth or rocks in a bucket attached to its long arm. It then empties the load into a dump truck to be carried away." And thus the hunt begins for a mass excavator among the four removable pages of color-photo stickers! The brightly colored stickers are (to some degree) reusable, and mostly they are between an inch square and 3 inches by 2 inches. There are about twice as many stickers as outlines, so that even a child who really does complete the book (by matching all the outlines to the stickers) will have plenty left for the even greater satisfaction of sticking decorative trucks onto face, furniture, and Fido. But let's be realistic: most children will not complete the book, and will prefer to treat this simply as a great sticker source. Why not? (Ages 3 to 6) --Richard Farr
