Review: This book is very educational in teaching the younger ones about counting. First, Willie counts 11 ducklings and the mother duck, then they begin to disappear and he recounts them. This will help children understand how to do "take-away" problems they will need to do when they start kindergarten. In addition, this is a lovely, heartfelt story about the love a little boy has about the ducks at the hotel. He calls out for someone to help the ducks and then insists that the hotel keep them because they don't have anywhere to go. This is truly a very wonderful story that any parent will enjoy reading to their children.
