Summary: Just What the Doctor Ordered
Review: My inner-city fifth grade class struggles to read and comprehend their social studies textbooks. This easy-to-read collection of plays has been a perfect intervention to teach history in a fun, engaging manner. While the previous reviewer may find the dramatic content beneath her and her students, it is just right for my kids. If you are looking for social studies materials that will allow all your students to succeed at reading and at history, this is a good book for your collection. I took off a star because there are some discrepencies between the listed cast of characters and the actual characters you need for at least one of the plays.

Summary: Easy to Read? Easy to Sleep Through!
Review: These plays may be easy to read but so what? As a 5th grade teacher, that isn't high on my list when my class puts on a play. I look for interesting, well written material. This book of plays definitely doesn't fit the bill. The plays are dumbed down and lack anything interesting. They will bore you, your students, and their parents. Avoid.
