Summary: 4 year old daughter loves this book year round!
Review: I bought this book from a catalog thinking it's just the seasonal book I was looking for to read to my 2 and 5 year old children. My 5 year old likes to read it aloud to me complete with spooky inflections on (or as he reads it) "Boo-Boo-Booooooogity Ghost". My two year old likes to repeat that phrase as she is increasing her verbal skills. However, I think the book is scary. I have to agree with the reviewer who pointed out the bit about the crew coming to your street at the end. That *is* frightening - to me as an adult and parent with an attendent set of fears about raising my children well and keeping them safe. My children, though, don't have a problem with the idea of a bunch of supernatural creatures tracking them to their home - or stalking them for that matter.

Summary: Appalling for young children!
Review: I have never read a more inappropriate book for ages 4-8. I am a teacher who cannot imagine the reaction of my elementary class if this were read to them. It is bad enough to include characters like the mad evil doctor, mummy, werewolf, vampire and witch but the author finishes the book by threatening the children with "we'll find your house (we know the street)". Our children do not need adult-like fears! I strongly encourage you to pass up this book and never look back!!

Summary: OUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN BOOK BY FAR...
Review: I have two children, ages five and two. My five year old LOVES Halloween, and has passed that interest along to his little sister. We buy many books during the Halloween season, and this is by far our favorite. We purchased this last year, and while there are some spookable characters, it is the only Halloween book that did NOT scare my two year old this year! She loves the wonderful rhymes and pictures and has selected this book every night at bed time since I pulled it out earlier this month. I have a feeling we'll be reading it way past Halloween! If you know your child to enjoy the usual Halloween characters (such as a witch, vampire, mummy, etc), buy with confidence.

Summary: I'd only recommend this to a 1st grader w/ a love 4 ghouls
Review: My son just read this book and gives it a "5" out of "10" which I equate to a 2 1/2 here. He read it with gusto, emphasizing each "Boooooo" but overall found it a bit boring and not at all "hilarious" (unlike Dragon's Halloween by Dav Pilkey which had us both smiling from beginning to end). The repetitiveness of the repeated rhyming patterns was dull for a big kid (3rd grade) and the creatures too spooky for my younger daughter (1st grade) who is not into ghoulies at all. The "mad doctor" brought back some memories of lost hours I'd like to recover while watching Stephen King's "Kingdom Hospital" but other than that I found it pretty blah as well. Save your $ and buy the charming Pilkey book instead.

Summary: How Spooky-Proof Is Your Kid?
Review: This book is a funny romp through a halloween night. The rhymes are cute and catchy. The illustrations are humorous. It's a favorite around our house and not just at Halloween.

Review: This fun Halloween book is perfect for this time of year. I completely disagree... I read this book with my children who thoroughly enjoyed it. The rhymes and illustrations make the book lighthearted and fun. I would definitely recommend Fright Night Flight!!!

Summary: 4 year old daughter loves this book year round!
Review: We first checked this book out at the library. My 4 yr old daughter just absolutely loved this book..so much that we have purchased it for her book collection. It is not too scary for my daughter, but like the other reviews you really have to know the personality of your child. My daughter loved dinosaurs at age 2 and now is a big Scooby doo fan with all the ghosts and goblins in those cartoons so this book really fits her personality.
