Rating: Summary: A Step Above the Ordinary ABC Book! Review: Brava, Laura Williams! This is an alphabet book that really brings a smile to my child's face. The photos are brightly colored and sharp, and the concepts are inventive and fun. The kids in the book all look down-to-earth (as opposed to Ann Gedes' airbrushed angels), and the large trim size is inviting for young readers. My child just loves the P/popcorn and U/underwear spreads, while I love the N/nap spread. No ordinary alphabet book, this is a must-have for parents with toddlers.
Rating: Summary: U for underwear? What happened to Umbrella? Review: I was SHOCKED by the U for Underwear spread. What happened to U standing for Umbrella, Ugly, Unicorn, Up, Under????? C'mon, do we have to photograph our young girls in their underwear???? For me, this was completely inappropriate and I will be returning the book. Call me old fashion, but as a mother of a daughter, I'd rather have her connect with the big black thing that we use to cover ourselves in the rain than 3 young girls standing in their underwear.
Rating: Summary: Adorable! Review: Very appealing and great fun. The photos are real kids doing kid-like things---lots of giggles. Very inspiring for young children to find their own alphabet antics.
