Summary: Picture Perfect
Review: As a natural hair care provider, of un-processed/chemically free African-American hair textures, I purchased this book to offer my little clients some styling options for their natural hair. I love showing my little clients and their parents this book. It gives some great brief articles on proper management of our youth's hair. And OHHHH the young girls and boys in the book are adorable. Now if you are looking for step by step instructions of how to achieve the hairstyles showcased then this book is not for you. However there are a few step by step or diagram instructions on a few of the styles. I feel that this book is a must have for parents/guardians etc. of African-American children. Even if one is creatively or dexterity challenged in hairstyling this book has something to offer.

Summary: beautiful book for kids and parents...
Review: Fun format and plenty of beautiful high quality photos. This is a great book for non-nappy haired parents of nappy-haired kids. It is well written with fun style ideas your children will love. Makes hair styling funner and more POSITIVE! Good book to have in your collection.

Summary: Just Okay
Review: I liked the pictures in this book because it gave me different hair styles to consider. I also liked the info. on hair care (trimming, washing, etc). But, I think the hairstyles should of been explained in more detail. For a person who's not familiar with different hair textures it's diffcult to understand (my daughter is biracial).

Review: I received this book as a gift from my cousin. This was a well thought out gift. The photographs are soooooooooo cute. My daughter enjoys looking at the photograps of the children's natural hair styles. It is a good book to use to enforce positive hair images in African American children. I enjoyed reading outloud the positive words that described each style to my daughter. This book includes instructions on how to do each hair style. A good book to have in your hair library.

Summary: Fun for Kids & Parents
Review: Me and my 3 year old daughter continues to enjoy this book. It's nice when she can pick a style that she likes. The pictures and hair styles are wonderful. When I decided to go natural this was a perfect book for me to read. I liked this book so I purchased a second copy for my 7 year old niece. Her mom too has decided to go natural. Me and my daughter receive more compliments on our natural hair than every before. I'm glad that I purchased this book when my daughter was young. I will not make some of the mistakes that my mom made regarding my hair. I was always told that I had bad hair as a child. It was extremely thick, long, and coarse. I know realize that I have the beautiful hair that I'm supposed to have. My mom know believes the same, and is considering wearing her hair natural.

Summary: For Learning about hair, not for braiding instruction
Review: The three star rating is only because I am horrible with hair and I thought I would get more in depth instruction. However, this is a great book for the basics of hair care for children. Instead of hair washing time being a chore, it has become something of a treat to my daughter.I have learned to take my time and respect SOME of her decisions about styles, and I have also learned to trust myself when it comes to her hair.

Summary: Good Book with Great Pictures
Review: This book has some good ideas and wonderful color pictures.
Each time that I do my 5 yr. old's hair she gets the book and picks out a picture of a style then I replicate that style for her hair.
The styles are very simple.
