Rating: Summary: no subject Review: I get so mad every time I read this book. I liked it, but it makes me mad. I live in Montana, in the heart of ranching country, and I am tired of people picking on it. We do not ride old, ugly horses. I know many, many horses, and they are gorgeous. I own a mustang mare and she is beautiful. Also, we do not wear purple-fringed clothes and ride around in old beat up trucks with I'D RATHER BE RIDING bumper stickers. I show in 4-H and rodeos and have seen many rodeo queens, and when people dress for show they wear nice clothes, not purple-fringes. Also, we are not all weird about "being one with your horse." I personally do not know anyone who would braid their hair into their horses mane. I would like to rate this book 5 stars, but beacuse of all the Montana junk, it only gets three stars.... I LOVE Montana!
Rating: Summary: Montanan's ain't like that!!! Review: I haven't read this book but it's kinda hard to keep up with the serios when the nearst book store that carries all of 'um is about 300 miles AWAY but i try and reading the other reviews all that stuff about montana is NOT true because i live in montana and I compete in 4H and show horses and steers and we DO NOT dress like that....that was the older times!!!!!! My main piont in writing this is that what happened to everyone!!!!!! and a hint to the authors...you been doing ok but read the books before and take notes or somethang!! because it at first started out with little things like ashleigh and wonder winning the kentucky derby together...they didn't!!!!!..but that big gap between ages..what was up with that???? and Ashleigh being pregent a couple of times but what happened with the babies??? did they dissappear into thin air or what??? same with the horses and people??? where did they go??? did they move and start another serios ofthere own..hehe??? or disappear into thin air or what??? Any one if they want to can e-mail me at smile_froggy@hotmail.com. Well later ~Dawn~
Rating: Summary: AWESOME THIS BOOK ROCKS!!!!!! Review: I love this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Lyssa, she seems to really be gentle and loving to all horses. I espescially liked it when she petted Foxy and Parker was getting all worked up about how Lyssa managed to pet her. The dressage left me scratching my head though. Dressage is about the beauty and harmony between horse and rider. ( do not question me on that cause I take dressage lessons and my horse is a talented dressage horse.) How did Lyssa win? I mean, she had harmony, but Blue was UGLY!!!!!! Foxy is a fine thoroughbred horse. Sure, she messed up a little, but again, BLUE IS UGLY!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Very GOOD! Review: I thought this book was really good! I have read better in this series like cindy's heart break but this was a good book, I am glad they went back to eventing for a book cuz that was a very big part awhile ago and I don't think they should just drop it like they dropped the characters! I feel chris and parker should of talked more throughout the book though! but I also thought it was kinda nifty that parker doesn't get along with every one and know we know he's not perfect cuz they made him lose wich is kinda good! well all in all this book was really good! if anyone knows about the book fallen star can you please write to me and tell me what it is about I would really appreciate that~ I would also recommend all the tb series but here are some of the best cindy's heartbreak, without wonder, and I thought star in danger was pretty good~~~ I suggest reading them all!
Rating: Summary: no subject Review: Okay, over all this book was pretty good, besides I miss racing! Even though I am a Morgan fan myself and want to go into showjumping someday, this is my favorite series. I can read about showjumping and eventing in Saddleclub books or basicly any series. But I find racing is much more excting to read about. I really don't like Cindy at all and I was gald when she disapeared. She was a major snob! She won the the biggest race in the world when she was 16 and was worried the Ashleigh was going to beat her the whole time. No offense to Glory, but if I was her I wouldn't have brought in a horse no one knew to a place that I just got to! Chris isn't a snob! Okay so she did't like racing at first, big deal! She ended up liking it and she switched. Star rocks and I didn't like Sterling that much anyway. She didn't have time for her so she sold her to a very nice person, it's not like she sold her to Brad! She is a very good rider and I hope Star goes on to win the Triple Crown. What happened to all the horses and people? Cassidy, Katie, Heather, Dylan? Oh and the horses Pride, Champion, Princess, Mr.Wonderful, Sterling, Sierra, Jazzman, Shining, Fleet Goddess, Limless Time???? Hello! I MISS THEM!!!!
Rating: Summary: Stay With The Thrills! Review: This book could have been better. It mainly focus' on eventing, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It seemed that the author tended to skip over the exciting parts. You know, going jump to jump with Parker on cross-counntry, and reading what he's thinking in dressage. Did anyone else notice that? The author only seemed to do that during show jumping. I also think that if you're going to write a book in the Thoroughbred series, whether it be about eventing or not, at least try to include a few races and racing experiences, please! I loved the way she developed Lyssa in this book, however shse totally changed Parker's image. Parker, I would think, is the type of guy who likes anyone, and is okay with anything. You wouldn't think he'd be jelous of Lyssa because basically all his stuff, including his horse, is better than Lyssa's. He's just jelous because he's being bull-headed. All-in-all, I'd say this book was GREAT! But could have been slightly better. Joanna, if your going to do a book on eventing, at least include racing because for most of us, thats the reason we read this series.
Rating: Summary: An awsome, funny and fantastic book!!!!! Review: This book was awsome! My mom and I read these books together all the time. It is a good book for all ages because it is easy to understand and there are not many hard words. These books inspire me to try new things when I am riding my horse. This book is about two teenagers who are in love, and they are big horseback riders. Cristina races horses and Parker does cross-country. When Parker was at an event with his horse Foxglove, he met a strang girl named Lyssa. She was riding a big gray horse, and she just went over a 3'6" oxer, a huge double jump. She was nice to Parker but when everybody at his farm started using her weird methods, he became very cross with her. Will Parker ever be friends with Lyssa? I think the author wants you to learn that everybody is different and that just because you have a different way of riding your horse that does not mean you can't be friends. I think the kind of reader that would enjoy this book is someone that love horses and enjoys reading about horses. I think this is a very good book to choose to read, because it is full of life, funny and never boring. Cristana is the girlfriend of Parker, and owner of Star (her horse.) and daughter of the famous jockey Ashley. Parker, is the boyfriend of Cristana, a great cross-country rider, owner of Foxglove (his horse.) Lyssa is an awsome cross-country rider, and owner of Blue (her horse.) This author has written all of the books in the seires, and trust me, there are a lot of books. I think that this book is different from other books because it is written in all the character's perspectives which shows everyone's point of veiw. It is not only a horse book it is also about the lives of teenagers and the problems they go threw. This author is very creative especially her great opening lines!!!!
Rating: Summary: great book! Review: This book was okay, I guess. I can understand where Parker was coming from but I think he kinda acted like a jerk. Also, why does Parker get books written with him as the main character. Mike and Tor never did! I love Parker, but I didn't like this book that much. Number 1, it was about eventing again and Number 2, it was mainly about how Parker was acting like a major snob like his parents when we know he's not!!!!!!!!!
