Construction (First Discovery Book X)

Summary: A wonderful children's book
Review: Construction is one of the many First Discovery books that all feature beautiful drawings, both on normal paper and on transparencies that cleverly fit on both opposing pages. Although recommended for ages 4-8, you can actually read it to children younger than that. As soon as they have learned not to tear the pages, they can browse through it themselves. The book depicts various aspects of construction, such as demolition, foundation laying, concrete mixing, cranes, tunnel building, road construction, etc. The pictures are accompanied by just the right amount of text, so that children can learn the names of the described items. Although not 100% toddler-proof, the book is quite sturdy and should survive a significant amount of abuse. Highly recommended.
