Review: I highly recommend this book. Rev. Hurlbut's lifework was telling and then writing Bible stories in a compelling, accurate way. His work has endured decade after decade. The earliest edition of this book was 1904! The illustrations by Marvin Jarbo are small, pen and ink. The text is what makes this book wonderful. Parents will learn new details of the Bible stories when they read this aloud to their children. Similar Bible story books are by Pearl Buck and Elsie Egermeier, but the low price on this one makes it particularly attractive. I've taught Sunday School for over 20 years, and I would love to see this book in the hands of every Sunday School pupil.
