Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Awesome
Review: I'm a big fan of Nancy Rue's, but even I was reluctant to read the non-fiction companions to the Lily books. I decided to give the "Values and Virtues" book a try, since it is the companion to "Lily Speaks!" The book is a pleasant surprise. When I was younger I thought of books like this as "dorky." With this one, readers not only learn about intergrity, they also learn about how to apply it to themselves and their walk with God. You won't find any boring stories here about values and virtues--instead the book is full of scripture references and helps the reader analyze their strong points and their weaknesses through a series of quizzes and "questions" from Lily and her gang. From there, Rue encourages readers to talk to God about their weak points in intergrity, and Rue encourages readers to find an adult to talk to about the Bible and everything in it. I highly recommend this book for the age it's intended for--the 8-12 year old age group.
