Rating: Summary: Magical Review: "The Road to Balinor," by Mary Stanton, is number 1 in the Unicorns of Balinor series. This is a fantasy tale about a race of intelligent unicorns who live in a realm apart from, but connected to, Earth. As the story opens we discover that one of the unicorns and his human companion have both been injured and are in a precarious situation in the human world.Overall I enjoyed the story. Stanton is especially effective in her presentation of interspecies relationships in a fantasy setting. There is also an intriguing villain. At times I found the language a little too corny and New Age-y for my tastes. I also didn't like the fact that the book really doesn't hold up as a stand-alone story; the cliffhanger ending seems to lead directly into volume 2. But the imaginative story, together with some clever touches along the way, make it a solid fantasy effort.
Rating: Summary: Where's the end? Review: At the age of 11, I had started reading these...But as I waited for the rest of the series to be published, Mary Stanton did not write any more. Sure the series is swell...BUT WHAT ELSE HAPPENS?! I'm sorry...but if you're the type of person who always wants to know the "end of the story" like I am, you WON'T read these. Because simply, they leave you hanging. Disappointing.

Rating: Summary: Series Review: I bought the first book a long time ago, and I read it. I found it really interesting, but I never knew where to buy the rest. I finally found them on Amazon.com when my Aunt sent my a gift-certificate for my birthday, but I could only afford numbers 2,3,4, and 5. I am working on number 5 now, and I only picked the books up a few days ago! I am trying to save my money to get numbers 6, 7 and 8 and hopefully.. 9 when Ms. Stanton comes out with it. I started to read these books and I could not put them down! I love the storylines and I have always dreamed of horses/unicorns that could talk. Ms. Stanton has truly made me a believer of Unicorns, and Balinor.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOKS!! Review: My daughter just turned 8 years old and absolutely loved these books. She is hoping that Ms. Stanton writes more. In her own words "these are the best books in the world". I thought they might be too advanced for her - but she has breezed through them in no time.

Rating: Summary: I Love these books!!! Review: these are such good books that i have read them over and over. I love how the Sunchaser and Ari are bonded and how they help each other through tough times and make so many kewl freinds. I give this whole seires 5 stars cuz they are the best unicorn books i have read. if you think that unicorns are all wild and noone can ride them then i think youre mistaken because many books present unicorns as friends to humans and in certain circumstances allow humans to ride them even though they do not nessicarly like it. onc again i say these are great books for anybody ppl of all ages could read these books.
Rating: Summary: A brilliant beginning to a magical series! Review: This book explains a lot about how the whole series began, and has a great plot with loads of suspense, happiness, and suspicion! There are so many parts in each book of this series where I go, "Oh, NO, that person should not be trusted, they're going to take the JEWEL! Stay away from them!", etc, as it's all very suspenseful with so many twists, and I love it! Sure, some parts can be quite scary, while others can be really cool and make you wish you could have a unicorn or that the Balinor land really does exist, but this book is awesome! I, individually, am very sensative to scary things, yet the frightening scenes in here are good, not the kind of scary where I can't sleep at night, the kind of good scary where I am fearful only at the moment the scene is occuring, then I switch back to being my normal self. This is one GREAT book any horse or unicorn lover would have a fabulous time reading!
Rating: Summary: A little disappointed Review: This book is about a young girl named Arianna (Ari), who is sent to the "real" world with her unicorn Sunchaser (Chase). On the way Ari and Chase are in an accident that causes Ari to break both of her legs and to have slight amnesia, and Chase to lose his horn, which makes him lose his power. Once Ari is better her foster parents make her lease Chase to a rich snob so they can pay for Ari's hospital bills. Ari then has to try to remember everything, and find her and Chase's way back to Balinor. Overall this was a pretty good book, but not my type. I do think that the author is an excellent writer, and I will continue to read other books by her.
Rating: Summary: ~~Don't worry, it's okay, there are many sequals!~~ Review: This book was awesome! It had a meaningful message in it--never underestimate the power of friendship. To begin, in Balinor, there are Unicorns. Unicorns are amazing and incredible creatures. Princess Arianna was a ruler in this world of beauty, until something really horrible happened to both her and her majestic and great Unicorn, the Sunchaser. But then comes the accident. Ari Langley doesn't remember anything but her name, her "horse" Chase, and a tunnel with the smell of dead and dieing things. When she reaches her "home", she suddenly realizes that she doesn't belong on earth. To make matters worse, her foster parents have to lease her horse, Chase, to a rich family with a child who abuses animals and then blames it on others. Ari finally realizes that if she doesn't do something fast, Chase could be gone for a year! Can Ari reach her home, reclaim her throne, her kingdom, and most important, her memory? But be warned--once you start this book, you cannot stop yourself from gobbling up the whole series. My suggestion is read through the whole series over and over again so you can understand it better. That way you won't miss important points and end up saying "what happened?" My last advice is, READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!
