Summary: Move over Harry Potter!
Review: I'm not generally a fan of books in this genre, but the artwork drew (no pun intended) me into buying this book and boy am I glad I did! Harry Potter has got nothing on Jonathan Maxwell and the adventures he takes off on to save his dream world.

I understand the comparisons to J. K. Rowling and Terry Pratchett, but for me this book reminded me of all the things I love about the Sandman comic series, Puff the Magic Dragon & the Simon cartoons ("Hello my name is Simon & I like to do Drawings!")

Fan of novels, fan of comic books or fan of art, this book will not disappoint. Only down side is now I'm waiting for book 2 of the series!

Summary: A must read for Harry Potter fans!
Review: I've read an ARC copy of this book and it is fantastic! Fans of Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett don't want to miss this one, you won't want to put it down....and when you finish it, you'll want to start it all over again!

Summary: THE BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ!
Review: This book was given to me as a gift. I had never heard of it, but being a big fan of children's fantasy, I figured I'd give it a try. What a wonderful surprise! This book was excellent! Wonderful characters who visit exciting places, and a very intriguing and well rounded story to boot, I really couldn't have asked for more...and the fact that I had almost no expectations made it that much better! The cover says "Book One", so I expect that there will be others in this series, and all I can say is, "Bring them on!" I can't wait to read more!

I don't really want to compare the book to other titles, because I think it is very much its own story, and I see that other reviews have already said fans of Harry Potter will like this (which I know they will), but I also think it is perfect for fans of the Chronicles of Narnia, Corneila Funke, and maybe even fans of Lord of the Rings (although this is not as deep and literary as Lord of the Rings)! The writing is great for kids approx 10-12 I'd say, although some words may be a litte advanced (nothing wrong with challenging young minds with new words!), but the writing is also solid enough that as an adult reader I was totally engaged.

I also need to mention the artwork. The cover is very nice and that alone made me interested, but there are also some excellent pictures inside the book that really add alot to the story. The artist, Jack Long, did a great job and his pictures really make this book that much more enjoyable.

So anyone looking for a NEW series to jump onto...this is the one! Very fresh and exciting...give it a try, you will be in for a very nice surprise...I know I was!
