Summary: An excellent book, fabulous poems, fantastic illustrations
Review: I love Golden Books, I grew up on them. When I got older I figured out why - Eloise Wilkin was the best illustrator! I had many of books with her illustratons. I used to think that they were actually about me, that is how wonderful her aristry is! When I found this book, I knew that I had to buy this for my baby. As it is, reading is one of the most important things that you can do for your baby, so I love to sit down and read the poems to my 8 month old son. This book just can't be beat.

Review: This book has great classic poems that are simple and fun for little ones. It's set up similar to Poems and Prayers for the Very Young by Martha Alexander--each spread has a few poems with illustrations including something relevant to each poem. The only difference is that this is a board book, nice and sturdy for toddlers, and this one includes charming pictures by Eloise Wilkin. This is a big book compared to most board books that are designed for little hands. This one is about 8 inches square, made to be read on your lap.
