Product Info Reviews

Description:

PiggyWiggy, hero of his own dreams in Goodnight PiggyWiggy, is now ready to narrow down his career options as he imagines being a fearless fire fighter. "I would wear a big yellow hat and slide down a shiny pole on my way to an emergency." He goes on to picture himself riding around in the fire engine, rescuing his faithful companion Teddy from places high and low, putting out blazing fires, and even cooling everyone down on hot summer days. But, as PiggyWiggy himself says, "It's always good to know that in a real emergency... I can call a real life fearless fire fighter who will come racing to the rescue" The real emergency in this case is a broken hose spigot and dry toddler pool that needs filling!

Although the punch line of this story might be a good place for a "kids, don't try this at home" caveat (an empty rubber pool is not actually an emergency!), future fire fighters will surely love this joyful book. Bright, Boyntonesque colors, big, bold, bumpy lettering, and a blissfully imaginative pig protagonist add up to one swell picture book. Parents and teachers can use it as a starting point for an emergency preparation lesson. (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter
