Summary: Chatanooga Reader's Club Cries For More!
Review: Hello from the Chatanooga "Choo Choo's" summer readers club in beautiful Tennessee! This book was listed in our regional teachers guide as a must for "pre school word play fun." It surely did live up to it's promise. My summer readers were inspired to write their own little books because of Altoona Baboona. Here are two; The Cheeta With Smelly Feet-a and The Bear-a Named Sarah. No, you won't be able to buy our books, but do pick up a copy of Altoona Baboona real soon-a. Once we got going on the silliness of the word play, we couldn't stop. Great fun for the "youngun's" in Choo Choo capital of the world!

Review: Lovable Altoona has been a favorite in our home for years. Now my first grader loves that she can finally read Altoona to herself. She was hooked a long time ago by the first sentence.."Altoona Baboona flicks peas with a spoon-a."

Altoona Baboona is a bored baboon with wanderlust in her heart. She takes off on a high-flying adventure in a hot air balloon and discovers friendship along the way. The art is colorful, engaging and a world of fun - just like the story itself.

Summary: This is a good book for little sisters and monkey lovers
Review: My sister and I earned book bucks this summer and after we read a book we have to write about it. Ok this book is not for me because I'm too big but its for my sister Maya. Right now its her favorite book because she loves monkeys and she is three and she can't write this. She wants a balloon like Altoona and she wants a backpack like shes got because she wants to go to school. She has 17 monkeys in her room and she has four gorillas and two baboons from the zoo gift shop my mom bought. So she is a big monkey lover! Maya likes that Altoona got friends in the end of the book and did not come home alone. That is the best part. The other best part is the pictures because they remind us of the ocean and our grandpas house in Hawaii. When we visited him Maya took Altoona on the plane with her. I wish that lady would write another monkey book because my sister would spend her book bucks on it too.

My name is Chaina and I'm eleven years old. My mom works with primates and we have a real Discondel monkey that looks like Altoona.

Thank you for making this book Love Maya and Chaina

Summary: Delightful!
Review: My two sons thoroughly enjoy Altoona Baboona. It is a real treat for the entire family. We are anxiously awaiting future books, and look forward to the interesting use of words. We especially love the artistic ability that she shares. I love listening to my sons read the book, even though they actually are too young to read the words. Instead of saying, "She dances", they'll say, "Her dances", and I am thrilled. Keep them coming. Last, but not least, the author is from East Texas originally, and that is very special, because, this Mom is too.

Review: The book was just awful! The reviews made me think it would be a definite hit, but I found it insipid, and my 2-year-old was completely uninterested. If you're going to make up words, you'd better be Dr. Seuss, and this author doesn't come anywhere near. The pictures are nice, though.

Some other books he really enjoys instead: "How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight", "Owl Moon", "Come on Rain", "What Mmms Can't Do", "Make Way for Ducklings", "Where the Wild Things Are".

Summary: Altoona Baloona
Review: This is a light and fun book that I enjoy reading as much as our three year old enjoys hearing it. As he says....Altoona Baboona sticks in our head long after we read it.
