Rating: Summary: Art, hilarious art. Review: This book is brilliant!!! A modern day Holden Caufield full of self-deception and love. Ravi is a tragic literary character. Yet there is humor in his sadness, suggesting hope for the future, his future as a former hanson backup guitarist. This book follows the life of Ravi as he hangs with hason, or dances with them as the title suggests. But the book takes an aweful twist as we find Ravi is not who he claims to be, a friend with Hanson. Instead his crazay mind is a warped and frightening world, full of twisted memories of passing interaction and friends who are never quite there for you, or there at all. Many famous characters make cameos in this tale of woe. Bill Clinton, himself love lorn, makes an appearence as the president. "While they all stood in a circle for 30 seconds, exchanging pleasantries, Tay glanced toward me and pointed, and the president gestured in my direction. I hesitate to say that he waved to me. But it seems like an acknowledgement"- Ravi. The adventure continues into a beautiful fairytale. Don't worry, I won't give away the ending in this review, it's killer. In short, Ravi is an incredible writer. TOo bad the Hansons are probably frightened of him, if they even know who he is. But cudoes to Ravi for pulling this off. I'm just sorry it's so short. What lies ahead for Ravi, only time, or stint as a backup player for Creed, will tell. I can be sure of this, my hands on the one-click order button for Ravi's next adventure of friends, delusion and obessession. I hope his album sells. Though he most likely stole the songs from hanson, because he's [different], he offers a tasteful and challenging story. REad between the lines, that's where the real story is.
Rating: Summary: This book takes you on a journey, through someone elses eyes Review: This book is not your average Hanson book. Unlike most this author did not sit around and research Hanson for several months, he lived it out with them. Ravi, was Hanson's guitarist. He was with the band when they started to get popular. He saw everything with his own two eyes. He watches as girls cry over their favorite Hanson. He stands as Jay Leno shakes their hands. He watches them climb the ladder to the top. He develops a friendship with the boys and their family. But, my mis-understanding was that if it was such a great friendship, then why does he continuously knock them down throughout the book. First its about their horrible habit of tardiness, then about how they became conceded. He stretches that they would pretend it was alright to change everyone elses schedules to suit themselves. What I see is jealousy. You can see it in his words, that he wants so bad what Hanson has, and had. He is sure to mention though if a girl happens to ask for his autograph. Sorry, Ravi but we are reading about Hanson, not you. If we wanted you we'd buy a book called "Dancin With Ravi" but we didn't so lay off. Although this book makes me mad when Ravi never fails to mention every little wrong thing that the Hanson family made, it is interesting. It shows Hanson's journey in a new way. It shows what it's like through someone who was there, and saw everything! One more thing, notice how Ravi's picture is dominating most of the cover of the book, and a small picture of Hanson is placed in the corner. What's the matter Ravi? Couldn't find a larger picture?
Rating: Summary: THE REAL HANSON!! Review: WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK, WELL YES AND NO THAT DEPENDS ON YOU, ARE YOU PREPARED TO HEAR WHAT HANSON ARE LIKE BEHIND THE SCENES, COS THIS BOOK PUTS THEM IN A NEW LIGHT WHICH PERSONALLY I THINK IS GREAT, BUT IF YOU AREN'T READY TO REMOVE YOUR ROSE-COLOURED GLASSES JUST YET, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GIVE IT A MISS. OR A LEAST WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE READY. IT IS A GREAT BOOK AND GIVES YOU A WELL ROUNDED VIEW OF WHAT THE BOYS ARE REALLY LIKE, OR AT LEAST IN RAVI'S POINT OF VIEW. DID RAVI WRITE THIS BOOK SOLELY FOR HIS OWN BENEFIT, PROBABLY I COULDN'T REALLY SAY, BUT I DON'T THINK HE HAS EXPLOITED THEM. IN THE BOOK HE MAY MENTION WHAT THEY TALKED ABOUT, BUT DETAILS ARE LEFT OUT TO LEAVE THEM SOME PRIVACY. THIS IS HONESTLY THE BEST HANSON BOOK I HAVE EVER READ...THOUGH IM NOT SURE I WAS READY FOR IT. ARE YOU?
