Rating: Summary: Beautiful, informative, and fun for kids too Review: I love Usborne books, and this book appealed to me because I wanted to give my children a greater appreciation and understanding of art. But the best reference book in the world is worthless if kids won't read it, and when I bought it I was a bit afraid it would sit on our book shelf unopened. When I told my kids, ages 10 and 12, that I wanted to sit down and read a few pages with them before a trip to the art museum, neither was very enthusiastic about it. But the book is written in a very engaging manner and by the time we got through the first couple pages they were asking questions and asking to read more. I later found my older daughter with her head back in the book, reading avidly. In the past few days both girls have continued to read deeper into the book, ask questions, and show me paintings they particularly like. This book is a wonderful resource because it contains a wealth of information for adults as well as kids, and it is interesting enough to keep both kids and adults reading.
