Rating: Summary: Vibrant Pictures, Good for Babies Review: As with all Baby Einstein books, this one has incredibly colorful and vibrant pictures. A few other reviewers commented on the quality of the mirrors, they are thin reflective film with a 'fun house' effect, but the 0-9 month age group really isn't going to care. Each page features simple text for younger ones with a mirror. The back of the book has 3 tips and ideas for parents. The best way to encourage your child to read is to have books in the home.
Rating: Summary: Baby Einstein makes Baby Geniuses Review: I was a bit skeptical when I received my first Baby einstein video while I was pregnant. I couldn't imagine any baby interested in videos yet and thought the company was playing to parents with the implications in their name. I now know better. I have become a true fan and supporter of all Baby Einstein products. This is the first board book I purchased from them and my daughter adores it. I already read to my daughter every day. She enjoyed listening to me but rarely took interest in the actual illustrations in books. This book has changed all that. On one side are bright pictures and the other a mirror. Although the text is quite simple my daughter adores the illustrations and of course looking at herself. She's a vain one already! It might be a lil too simple for older children but perfect since my daughter was 2 months old. I usually add text while I'm reading to lenghten the time spent on each page. I am delighted she's actually taken an interest in the actual book I'm reading and not just my voice. Baby Einstein promotes healthy development and learning in children so I now promote Baby Einstein.
Rating: Summary: Baby loves book despite low quality mirror Review: Like another reviewer, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the mirrors in this book. However, I received the book as a gift and could not return it, which turned out to be a bit of luck, because this is my child's favorite book out of the 20 or so in his collection. I can't explain it, but he adores the book despite the mirrors being all distorted. The second we open the book to read it he grins ear to ear and begins to laugh. I have been reading it to him since he was born and it's become his favorite in the last month (he's 7 months old now). He loves the characters and loves looking in the mirrors even though it does not produce a clear image. I must say that although I never liked the book because of the poor quality mirror, I have had to come around because he likes it so much. I also enjoy the fact that it's the only book with which I can see HIS face while I reading to him on my lap (even if I have to decipher them out of the carnivalish mirror). I definitely recommend the book despite my initial reaction.
Rating: Summary: Great Baby Book Review: Low-quality mirrors? Come on, it's a board book! These mirrors are good enough for my eight-month-old (of course, so is the dishwasher front). She's LOVED this book since she was about 4 months old and claps whenever I pull it out. Buy it!
Rating: Summary: Great Fun! Review: My 6 month old daughter & I are huge fans of the Baby Einstein Baby Mozart video so I bought this book to try out and she loves it. Yes she tries to eat it but this is only to be expected, and it is standing up very well to lots of dribbles!!!!! It's very simple & short to read along with a mirror on each page. She looks right into each mirror and smiles, sometimes laughing out loud!!!! Of course they are not real mirrors but you can see yourself in it looking all wobbly which adds to the fun! I can't imagine a baby not enjoying this book!
Rating: Summary: My baby loves it! Review: My baby is 6 months old and loves to look at himself in the mirror and the bright images stimulate him! Great book highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: best baby book Review: My son who is 10 months has loved this book since he got it at 4 months. He smiles and laughs every time. I can watch his reaction to the pictures by angling the mirror just right. Sometimes he gets a glimpse of mom watching him and finds that funny too.
Rating: Summary: My baby loves it! Review: My son who was six months at the time I purchased the book, loved it! He would not only look at himself in the mirrors, but would also lay the book on the floor and look at the reflections on the ceiling. He is now 19 months and still loves it!
Rating: Summary: great concept, poor execution Review: My son, as most babies, loves mirrors so I thought this book would be great. However, the mirrors in this book are like fun house mirrors--the baby can't really see another baby face in it. He has received this book twice, and both have this problem. ALthough he likes the book, his favorite is another book with a "clear" mirror in it. Also, I'm not sure why some of the animals have names, and some are called by what they are. Odd. There are some Baby Einstein products that I love, but this is not one of them.
