Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Funny and beautiful Review: As a fan of Breathed's "Bloom County", I felt the urge to buy this book for my four years old daughter. She, her sister, her mother and her father love it.The story is narrated by a frustrated girl who receives no attention from her brother "Edwurd", the biggest liar alive. One day, one of his lies goes too far, bringing even an upset creature from "just two galaxies down". The illustrations are gorgeous, with the usual funny style of Breathed, in which characthers look as stretched by superior forces. Regarding a complaint from another reviewer, here is the discussed dedication: "The author wishes to thank President Bill Clinton, without whose daily inspiration this particular story just plain wouldn't have come to mind". That's it. I will not call it a "political statement", but just plain humor. Highly recommended.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: I returned this purchase Review: Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big shares a [partial] moral with The Boy Who Cried Wolf, but has cosmic consequences. Dedicated to Bill Clinton, this is the story of a little boy who lies and lies and lies, until one day a whopper of a lie catches up with him. It is also the story of an unnoticed sister [the narrator], who lies to save her brother and gains his notice. The story isn't a black and white story against lying - the sister saves the day with a lie and is both punished and rewarded - and would be a good starting point for a conversation about lying with a child, especially a child who has discovered that adults don't always follow their own edicts [never lie-lying is WRONG!]. The art is Berkeley Breathed [Bloom County, Outland, A Wish For Wings That Work] at his best. I enjoyed the book and figure a lot of adults will also enjoy the book [if you don't like some ambiguity, you probably won't like the book]. I don't envy the jobs of parents with sharp kids [I'm childfree by choice-I've never had to untangle the issue of lies with a child-yes, I do deal with lies and my 9th graders, but most of them have already developed their feelings about different levels/types of lying by the time they come to me], because you want to steer your kids in the correct direction and not lie to them at the same time. I think that the story of Edwurd Fudwupper and his sister Fannie would be a good place to start.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Another hilarious work of art! Review: Edwurd Fudwupper is the greatest of liars, and who would know better that his sister Fannie? Edwurd's fibs become bigger (and more effective), until he finally comes to the attention of a certain someone--a someone he would rather not come to the attention of. Only one thing can save Edwurd now, the love of a sister he had not deigned to notice before. Berkeley Breathed has produced another hilarious work of art! My seven-year-old son insisted on reading this book to me, not once, but three times straight through! The story is hilarious, and the illustrations have the right amount of kookiness to make the story funnier still. If you have children, then you must get this book. (If nothing else, to see the fate of poor Mabel Dill!)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fibbin' Fudwuppers Batman! Review: Fannie Fudwupper's big brother is no ordinary big brother. Some little boys are good at baseball or basketball, but Edwurd's talent lies in his ability to craft the most outrageously creative fibs ever. One day he goes too far. He tells a fib so fantastic, so far-fetched, that it sends everyone--including the dog catcher, the air force, and even those two galaxies down--into a panic. Has the damage been done? Will Edwurd face certain punishment? Read the book, and find out. I did, and found a new favorite kids book! The wonderful illustrations and text come together to make a laugh-out-loud story for kids and adults. And parents will love the message--honesty IS the best policy.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Brilliant Review: I bought this book for my sister in law, who is the Fannie to my husband's Edwurd. Whoever wrote that this story is detrimental to young girls is foolish. This story is about a young girl who wishes her brother would notice her, and for all his faults, she loves hime. Enough to fib for him so he wouldn't get into trouble. Well, they BOTH wind up in the corner, and it brought tears to my eyes. Breathed has NEVER written a story detrimental to anyone.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: My 3yr old and I LOVE this book Review: My 3yr old and I LOVE this book; we crack up every time we read it. Wonderful story, well written easy rythmic cadence, heart warming book with inherent lesson about the trouble with fibbing.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: My children's new favorite Review: My husband and I bought this book for our kids at Christmas, and since then it has been an almost daily read. The illustrations could stand on their own, while the story is fun and has a good message. My kids really enjoy following the secondary story of Mabel Dill, and coming up with different ideas about what happened to her after the end of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good children's story that isn't mind-numbingly boring to read over and over and over again.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best Book Review: This book is such a pleasure to read! The illustrations are fabulous, and the story flows so well... not that we have to read it any more because we all have it memorized! We purchase this book for all new moms and dads, and for many birthdays, too. In a world of children's books where well-written and beautifully illustrated often do not seem to intersect, this book is a gem. Enjoy it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Love It Review: This is a once a week reader with a great message and excellent pictures. I have 3 boys and this is a book they all enjoy, and I enjoy reading to them again, and again, and again...
