Summary: The best children's book ever!
Review: I bought this for my 4 year old son. And believe me, the cost almost made me say no. But it is so wonderful and my 7 year old son loves it too. It's short but well worth it. Something they will want to keep to read to their kids

Summary: the power of imagination
Review: My art teacher showed us this book in class. It was so wonderful to get a book that left something to the childs imagination. That is the problem I have with too much TV for children it does not allow them to create the minds eye. This book allows for that. Each page is well crafted and the addition of the flashlite keeps my child wanting to read tne book and use the light. He was fasinated when the images appeared on our wall. I think any child of age 4 years and up will appreciate this book and think that their parent is so cool. Which is what we really want isn't it?

Summary: Awesome gift for all ages!
Review: My aunt got this for me for Xmas because she knows I like children's books. The staff at the library I work at all read it together up in the storage room last week, and last weekend I read it to 2 girls, ages 8 and 9, who insisted on each taking turns reading it out loud. The cut-out pages and their shadows are extremely effective in displaying to kids that yes, shadows in the dark can be scary, but they needn't be. The first and last page are to be lit from behind with the included flashlight, which work as stepping stones into and back out of 'shadowland' with the hero, William. In between, the cut-out pages can be projected as large as your wall or ceiling allow them to be. Great for both boys and girls, and for a broad age group.

Summary: WOW!
Review: My son received this gift for his birthday and we are hooked. He and I have cast shadow after shadow on the wall. In addition, it's a good story with a good surprise at the end that provides some comfort. The words on the page are poetic. What more could you want in a childhood book. It's one to keep in your child's trunk so he can read it to his kids some day.

This would be a magical Christmas or birthday gift . It encourages quality time, something we all need more of in this busy world.

Okay, one more thing. Most children's stories bore me. I read to my son because it's the right thing to do and because he enjoys it. This story is interactive and interesting TO ME!

Summary: BRINGS CHILDREN AND PARENTS TOGETHER
Review: The book is fun! But I thing what is even better is how it brings parents and children together. I am always trying to find new things to do with the kids in general, and this book solves the problem at bedtime. To the author, I say "Good work", and I hope you bring something else out soon.

Summary: unique book addresses night fears while casting shadows
Review: This is a book that will make your little one positively anxious to go to bed! Spiral bound, you flip through the pages and use the attached flashlight to cast shadows on the wall as you read the accompanying stanza. The story tells of a ring held by the wicked crow, a jackal who plots and fights to claim the ring, and William -- who watches the battle and finally decides to act ....

The poem is not great but the story it tells, and the lesson of not fearing nighttime shadows, will please your little one. The concept is great and exciting for kids and adults, and the cut-outs are well done. I bought the book used and am glad I did so. While this is a fine book with heavy paper, cut-outs and spiral binding, and you can see why it's so expensive, it's still very expensive. This might be a good incentive to make your own shadow casting book or story.

Summary: Childhood Treasure
Review: This precious tale is more than a book. It is a simple way to escape to the mysterious world of animals and adventure. When I bought it I was skeptical that the shadows would project all that well. In fact, it is fascinating how a small page can project to a larger than life image on your bedroom wall. My children and I fight over taking turns as we all enjoy manipulating the light and shadows. Since buying it we have read the book endless times. I have bought copies for my godchildren, nieces and nephews as I hope they have as good of a time playing with it/reading it with their parents. It is a very special gift.

It is a timeless and classic story that teaches children valuable lessons about facing their fears. Both the story and the book design offer a way to engage with your child and enjoy the activity of bedtime stories. And when you're done reading, a simple switch of the flashlight is all it takes to be ready for bedtime. I highly recommend it for any age (my children are 3 and 6).

Summary: William Is Not What It Appears
Review: William and the Magic Ring is a well-written 62 line poem. The story addresses children's night-time fears and shows them to be only shadows. The laser cut images are clear and cast good shadows on the wall. The book, however, is not the 32 pages that the description says it is. Due to the nature of a shadow book, it is one-sided. This book is really only printed on 16 pages. The other 16 pages are the blank backs. If you do not mind paying quite a bit for such a small short story, it is well done.
