Summary: Not for a 2 year old!
Review: I didn't like the content of this book at all. I always read a book before I buy it for my children & my son got this one for his 2nd birthday. Imagine my surprise when I got to the pages about "boogies" and "ear wax!"
I have since hidden the book because I don't think he should know about eating boogies & ear wax....yet.

Summary: Love It!!
Review: My 2 and 4 year old boys LOVE this book. My mother first read it to them with great voice inflections. They laughed so hard that I have to read it to them like that. So, it talks about eating ear wax. if you read the yucky parts and really put emphasis on the word yucky, doesn't it make it an educational book!!! Besides, if you have boys, they are already thinking about that anyway. Seriously though, it is a great light-hearted book.

Summary: Fun book boys love it
Review: My boys LOVE this book and I have to say I do too. The illustrations are adorable. My four year old has it memorized. The burgers are yummy and boogers are yucky makes him laugh so hard. Although the first time he read about the ear wax he wanted to try that. Crazy kid. So it gave me a good laugh too. I think this is a great book that makes learning to read fun for little boys...and I am sure some girls too.

Summary: Cute, but not for everyone
Review: This book has a cute premise and is adorably illustrated. Unfortunately, it seems the author didn't put much thought into making her work accessible to all families. She lauds fish sticks, burgers and chicken as "yummy," thus excluding vegetarians; and lists chocolate and blueberries as "yummy" making this book off limits to my food-allergic daughter. (Other highly allergenic foods listed as "yummy" include milk and eggs, which should NEVER be given to children under 1 year of age - and yet the drawings depict a very young baby...)

Summary: This book is YUMMY, other books are YUCKY
Review: This is my daughter's favorite book. There aren't that many good opposite books out there and this one is wonderful. She loves books, but she could read yummy yucky and the 2 others in the series over and over. It is enjoyable for adults too-great illustrations and quite witty-you won't tire of it-believe me-we've read it about 8 times a day since we got it 6 months ago. It is indeed quite YUMMY!

Summary: We Heart Yummy Yucky
Review: We have a blast reading this book - it cracks my kid up everytime! Leslie's illustrations are bright and textural, and the baby character is hilarious! We've read all three of her books over and over. I see that there are a couple more coming out soon -- looking forward to reading them as well!

Summary: A fun read for both kids and parents
Review: We introduced this book to my toddler at an age when he was eating sand in the sandbox and grabbing pretty much anything else he could get into his mouth. This book was a fun way to explain why we don't eat sand, kitty litter, or worms. He loves this book, and we do too! We all always laugh out loud when reading it. The illustrations are really colorful and bold, and the text is downright funny. Some people are offended by the advice not to eat earwax or boogers, but if you think it's not bad to warn a toddler about that (or even funny!) then your family will love this book.

Summary: A Great Book!
Review: We received Leslie's series (Yummy/Yucky, Big/Little, and Quiet/Loud) for our 12-month-old's birthday. They are absolutely his FAVORITE books and he never tires of them. The illustrations are amazing -- I'd like to have larger versions to frame and use for decorations in our nursery! The simple images and bright colors are wonderful for younger babies, while the broader themes and conceptual comparisons are great for imaginations of all ages. You can't go wrong with any of Leslie Patricelli's books!
