Summary: Good!
Review: I have read many long, complex books on studying and study tips. Soon after using the complicated methods, I stumbled across this book. It was refreshingly simple and effective without any sort of complicated methods. A good reminder for the overwhelmed.

Summary: kids can do a lot when properly motivated
Review: I like this book very much. It provides insights on how to make kids happy and productive in doing homework. Its humorous writing makes my daughter and me laugh! The ideas are simple and effective. Kids are motivated to do better when their homework is recognized widely.

A friend of mine referred me to a nice Houston community web site http://www.beestar.org. It provides free daily math exercises with weekly honor roll. My daughter likes it very much. She has been doing math online without any push since I signed up her last semester.

Summary: On their level
Review: The author really knows how to get down to the child's level as he presents his ideas. Children enjoy taking his advice. It is a big help. Sometimes the resistance is the biggest issue. Sometimes not knowing how to do the work is a big issue which the child denies. This book helps children feel like trying and asking for help when needed. Another book that does this for the K-3 children is Little Lemon by Betsy Lee. I didn't see a place for recommending a book in addition to this one so I thought I'd mention it in the review.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Witty and helpful
Review: This book is a sure way to get children laughing their way through homework. The meaningful jokes (by meaningful I mean that they are almost subliminally coaxing kids to do homework) are miracles. This writing style should be used more often! If the author comes out with other informative, witty and adorable books, I will be the first customer!
