Rating: 5 stars
Summary: totally loveable
Review: I love this book. We checked it out at the library and my little 14 month old won't let me put it down. Since there are only three words that are repeated through the whole book, my 4 and 5 year olds love to "read" it, also. The story line is simple and sweet. We've already had to renew this book three times from the library and I've decided to just buy it.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS AWESOME
Review: I read this book to my 2 year old every night & she loves it. In fact, when it's time to go to bed we say, "Are you ready to go see Bobo?" and she runs to the door yelling "BOBO BOBO". She knows the whole story I have made up to go along with it and says it along with me. The illustrations are clear and she loves picking out the animals and telling me the sounds they make. Most of all, she loves it when Bobo and his mommy are reunited.

Summary: Loving It
Review: My 2 year old daughter loves this book. Everytime the word hug appears, we hug. She makes all the animal sounds. She finds Bobo and points to herself, she finds the Mommy and points to me. My husband and I tell different stories each time we read it to her so she never tires of the book. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Everyone needs a hug
Review: My 2-1/2 year old son loves this book. We'd checked it out from the library so many times that I quickly snached it up when I saw it on a discount rack at my bookstore. My son loves naming the animals and talking about Bobo's emotions when he's sad and lonely wanting a hug and then how happy he is to see his mommy and get a hug from her. We hug right before we turn the page, every page.

Summary: Teach your child to read
Review: My 4 year old daughter loves this book. What a great beginning reader, I think it has a total of maybe 4 words. HUG! being the main word used through out the book. We go through and try to give the word "hug" a different sound to show how the monkey is feeling. It's a great book dealing with emotions and how one's body language and voice can show emotion.

Summary: Great pictures
Review: Not much of story and it does not keep my 13 month old son's attention like his other books, but the pictures are nice to look at...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent book suitable for many ages!
Review: One feature I especially like about this book is the lack of text! This allows you to make up the story suitable for the age level. When they get old enough they can be creative and make up the story themselves. It is not hard to make up text- the author does a wonderful job at conveying the emotions of the characters through beautiful illustrations.

The story is simple- basically about a baby chimpanzee looking for his mother so he can be hugged like the other animals are hugged. A warning, as I mentioned above- there is hardly any text- just the word "hug" said by the little chimp throughout. I view this as a positive because it allows creativity- but if you do not like that style this book is not for you.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Sweet, simple story with precious illustrations
Review: Parents wil find this a more interactive book to read w/ their children, because most of the text just says "Hug!" but it's the illustrations of this baby chimp and other African animals that tell the story.

The little ape sees other animals (esp. mommy animals and baby animals) hugging, and wants a hug, too.

There will be a lot of pointing, "look at the hippos! look at the zebras!" and lots of hugs when this story is read. Very sweet, and a great goodnight story to read to your kids.

Summary: I'd rate HUG a 10+
Review: The pictures are superb. My children are grown and I bought a copy for myself, it captivated me so. Actually, I have already purchased three copies and succeeded in finding a child for each one. What a fun read! It makes such an impression on a toddler and because the book mainly consists of one word the youngster can eventually read it without an adult by simply following the pictures. All three of the children I gave the book to (after the joyful experience of reading it to them first) already owned a plush toy monkey that they immediately dubbed BoBo.
