Summary: Delightful story about the World and Food!
Review: "How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World" is a truly delightful book. A young lady attempts to make an apple pie only to discover that her neighborhood grocery store is closed. She then goes home packs a bag and takes her readers on a globe trotting journey to gather the necessary ingredients. She takes her readers to far corners of the globe to gather fresh spices, seawater to make salt, and always-fresh apples. This is a wonderful story to share with a young child. It will help to expose young children to global interest and how food arrives in their own homes. The book also includes a map to help readers find where they have been taken on their journey. A wonderful story for adults and children!

Review: A beautifully illustrated book that will provide entertainment as well as many learning opportunities as you travel the world in search of the ingredients necessary to bake an apple pie. Children learn that food does not come from the grocery store - it has to be grown, harvested, milled, and prepared before it arrives magically on the dinner table. Your children may come to a new appreciation for the things normally taken for granted, and learn valuable geography lessons in the process. Maps and suggestions for an apple tasting party are included. I love this book!

Review: My five year old, my wife, and I loved the story. The plot was zany enough to catch my child's attention. Good wholesome reading and eating. If you read it, make sure you have apple pie (and ice cream if you wish) ready.

Summary: Greatest Story Ever Told: The Incredible Lessons of Apple Pi
Review: The long undervalued but much touted apple pie (even without the ice cream, ala mode) represents the finest of lessons in health for human kind but one which would never come from the Bible because baking and the utensils of kitchens, nor the trading routes and processes to cultivate the ingregients of apple pies was present at the time the Bible was written. What we can learn about apple pie making, why it would be made, who would make it, when, or for whom is a lesson not soon to be forgotten from this analysis of the joys of apple pie making, along with the simple nutritious joy that becomes a part of the experience of eating it once made. It is a veritable miracle of mankind in modern days that we have the will, and the ways to make this special treat, as the evolution of mankind has provided the mechanics of both, a valuable lesson of the past as well as the present. While some concentrate on the miracle of producing milk and how it gets to market to be bought, sold, and drunk, many have forgotten the importance of the apple pie to commerce as well as to families, made all the more important because of the transparency of its secrets, hidden in its prominence. An apple pie made from scratch is nothing more than a modern miracle continuing in its miracle with the potential to please like nothing else. The primary precaution, however, is that it is never made with rotten apples, and never taken for granted in the importance of its being made and offered in the first place. Review: This book is really delightful, to be enjoyed by young and old alike! The story takes you in, and gives the feel that one is on the journey with the cook as she searches the world for her ingredients. My kids and I liked this book very much, especially the recipe for apple pie inside the back cover, yumm!
We are glad however that our store was open, and we found all of our ingredients there!

She learns a valuable geography lesson as well as she travels the world to gather the ingredients for making apple pie. With beautiful color illustrations, maps, and ideas for an apple tasting party, this book is a treasure.
