Review: Volume 5 Hot Gimmick has got to be the most exciting volume!! This volume is a MUST READ!
In this volume we're getting more clues about Hatsumi's family secret when Shinogu moves out. Discover why & how bad boy Ryoki gets more & more lovable in each volume! Hatsumi could barely control her feelings around Ryoki these days but after Azusa, Hatsumi is very cautious! What's Ryoki's true intention, is he doing this to convince Hatsumi to be a slave?
Readers will be proud & be surprised by Hatsumi's action in this volume! she finally expressed herself, stand up for her feelings! That's a HUGE progress for our Hatsumi since volume 1!!
I love this volume the best because the romance from each character pair is budding! It's so entertaining to see how Hatsumi, Akane, Ryoki & the gang deal with their emotions, it's something that we all can relate to. We could also see each character's growth & maturity, how somehow they all effect each other!!
Also the drama seems to escalate within each volume leaves you wanting MORE! MORE! Hot Gimmick is deffinitely one of the BEST & most exciting shoujo!

Summary: Hot Gimmick, Volume 2: A 180 turn
Review: When I first read Hot Gimmick Volume 1, I wasn't quite sure what I thought of it. I liked it, but at the same time, I didn't. Then I found as time went on, I liked it more and more.
And so I began eagerly anticipating Volume 2. I was lucky enough to find a copy of it yestarday(Jan. 11) at Walden books. As soon as I saw it, I HAD to get it. It was very eager to know what would happen with the Hatsumi, Ryoki, and Azusa triangle. The thing is, with Volume 2, I can't really say to much, because it will give it away. But lemme tell you, you will NEVER guess what you will find out. I mean it totally shocked me, but I wasn't mad at all, I was pleased. If you thought Volume 1 was great, it aint got NOTHING on Volume 2.! I'm completely hooked now, I CAN'T wait for Volume 3 to come out(who knows when that'll be). The way this manga is, it really took it up a step. The chatacters are growing way beyond what we already know of them and turn out being completely different then what we thought, and the plot is becoming more and more intriguing. The triangle between Hatsumi, Ryoki, and Azusa is getting extremely complicated, but that's good. :D Even if you were'nt entirely fond of Volume 1, I suggest picking up Volume 2. Its ABSOLUTELY worth EVERY single penny.! If you're let down, you must have something wrong with you. hehe Naw, just kidding. Then again..... ;) God Bless & *Enjoy* ~Amy

Summary: Quirky, Not Perky
Review: While the cover page of volume one screams out "Pink!," don't discriminate. It's a quirky, unusual love story about apartment complex romance and the twists and turns that come along with it. Hot Gimmick is clearly considered my favorite manga, japanese comic novel.
When Hatsumi Narita hears of her younger sister's, Akane's, supposed pregnancy, she rushes to the convenience store to purchase a pregnancy test, only to bump into the apartment complex's tyrannical bully and son of the landlord's wife, Ryoki Tachibana.
He finds out about Akane's dirty, little secret and blackmails poor Hatsumi into being his slave. It all goes downhill from here as Hatsumi's life-long crush, Asuza, comes back to the complex after nine years.
After a few incidences of sexual harassment and false pretenses, Hatsumi finds her life complicated as she faces three men vying for her heart: Ryoki Tachibana, Asuza Odagiri, and Shinogu Narita.
