Summary: A Wedding Hit!
Review: A very good friend read this book at our wedding, and it was the most delightful thing ever. I can't tell you how many people came up to us (and to her) afterward asking about the book. It brought tears to my eyes and smiles and laughter to our wedding ceremony. I love this book.

Summary: Silverstein With a Bigger Brain
Review: An ephinany for grown-ups....as are many children's books (as are many children). While shopping for the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling, I, the impulse shopper, bought this book after looking at one page at the counter. Throw away the self-help books, buy this, read it, read it again and then keep it in good company with "If", The Prophet, Life After God and A Prayer for Owen Meany. Give it to anyone you like and everyone you love; give it to the innocent for sure and "pay it forward" to all grown-ups flirting with bitterness.

Summary: My all-time favorite book
Review: I first heard this book when I was a very little girl at summer camp. Two of the counselors read it to each other at a campfire, taking turns reading the lines. When I grew up, I became one of those counselors who frequently read it with a good friend at different campfires. It's held a place in my heart ever since.

We all made a rule that "I Like You" is not a book you can buy for yourself. You can only own it if someone else gives it to you, and I have given it to many of the most important people in my life. It's quite possibly the best gift I've ever found to give to someone.

This year at Christmastime I gave it to a special friend, and I read it out loud to him before he left. I told him it was one of my favorite books and I'd loved it since I was a child. After we read it, he said, "This means a lot for adults, too." Since then he is constantly throwing out "I like you"'s to me and quoting the book--it means a lot to both of us now. :)

Summary: Best Gift Ever
Review: I just gave this book to my girlfriend for her birthday along with a few other, more expensive and fancier gifts. Ever since she first read the book, it has not left her hands. She loves it more than anything else I gave her. This is a book that you have to give to anyone you care about.

Summary: A campfire treasure
Review: I was first introduced to this book when I was a counselor in training at a Girl Scout camp in Utah. It was performed as a skit at campfire every week. I was thrilled when I found out it was actually a book, when one of my camp friends gave it to me as a gift years later. Since then, I have read it together with every special friend I have. I know it by heart and often my friends and I quote from it. Especially the part about being lost in Grand Central Station...."hey where are you? "..."Here I am!" Share it with any special friend, child or adult. Sometimes the best lessons we learn as adults, are taught through the simplicity of a child.

Summary: A book for any age
Review: I was given this book as a child but it wasn't until I read it as an adult that I realized how special it is. Its perfect as a gift for friends, family, that special someone, or for yourself when you're feeling down. I read it whenever I want to remember how simple life can be or if I need a good laugh. I think it teaches you a lesson to live by: remember to be goofy sometimes and enjoy the silly moments in life with the people you love, I mean really enjoy them, like you would a parade, no matter what day it is!

Summary: Simple, innocent, and quite meaningful
Review: I was looking for a gift for my girlfriend, something that wasn't too cliched or overdone. Somehow the recommendation system at Amazon pointed out this little gem. So, I bought it, figuring that if it turned out to be corny or too elementary, I'd just give it to one of my nieces.

As it turns out, this is an amazing book that manages to give a simple voice to strong, complex emotions, and all this in a funny, whimsical way.

My girlfriend was very surprised and absolutely loved it. We sat down right there and read it out loud together. To this day she will sometimes include quotes or excerpts from it when she writes me or we're talking on the phone.

For a purported "children's book," it has a powerful impact. Sometimes you laugh while you're reading it, sometimes you simply say "That is so true!" Given wisely to those whom you truly care about, it states beautiful truths in an innocent, meaningful, effective way.

Summary: Cb's praises
Review: I will say quite simply that having read this book I can see more clearly who it is I truely care about. It describes friendship with an unmatched child-like simplicity that strikes the beats of every heart that's had a true friend. This book makes the perfect gift for anyone special in your life.

Summary: What a beautiful book...
Review: My mother gave my father this book many years ago, and my sister and I grew up reading the dog-eared pages and studying the black-and-white line drawings. The book is so small, so simple, and so completely and utterly perfect.

This past Valentine's day, I bought my own copy of the book. Over the course of two weeks, I hand illustrated it with colored pencils. I colored my love into every single page, and gave this magical tome to the love of my life. Someday our kids will read it and study the drawings, and pass on the message it contains. It is quite possibly the most important book ever written.
