Summary: Farley Drexle Hatcher
Review: Fudge-A-Mania is a really funny book. Fudge is always making trouble everywhere he goes, even at a restaurant. Peter is Fudge's older brother and he always minds his own busness. Shelia is the snottiest person on the whole planet. The Hatchers go on a trip to Maine for three whole weeks, but there is good news and there is bad news. The good news is that his best friend Jimmy Fargo gets to come. The bad news is that The Cootie Queen, Sheila Tubman, also comes. Peter thinks that this vacation couldnt get any worse, but it does!!!

Summary: Weakest of the series
Review: TALES OF A FOURTH GRADE NOTHING and SUPERFUDGE were so charming because they were over-the-top camp written mainly for laughs. Peter was the long suffering elder brother; Fudge, the terror in GrrAnimals; and Tootsie, the baby terror in the making. With FUDGE-A-MANIA, Judy Blume decided to go "realistic" and lost a lot of the fun of the first two books.

Now Peter is the whiner at the prospect of sharing a vacation house with Sheila Tubman. Sure, we know he doesn't like her but he loses a lot of the long-suffering that made his character when he just won't buck up when it's clear Sheila's coming anyway. Half the fun of Peter in the first two books was when his parents convinced him to bear with them and the situation.

Fudge is still a pest, but he has lost a lot of his over-the-top wildness. Where's the kid who smeared mashed potatoes on the wall, got lost in a movie theater, spotted a children's author's imaginary friend (much to Peter's embarrassment), and peddled off to the highway with his annoying friend? Where's the kid who so wanted to be a bird when he grew up that he tried to fly and became better known to his brother as Fang? Sure, he's maturing, but that doesn't mean he should lose the character traits that made him fun.

Finally, what happened to Tootsie? The little girl who loved Nu Yuck was lost in this story. Other than running across the painting of Jimmy's father and thereby creating "Baby Feet," Tootsie wasn't heard from. If Judy Blume was going to mature Fudge, couldn't she have had Tootsie take over his reign of terror?

FUDGE-A-MANIA is okay, but you'll have more fun with TALES OF A FOURTH GRADE NOTHING and SUPERFUDGE.

Summary: This book is REALLY funny!
Review: This is another great book about Peter and Fudge! This time the Hatchers are off to Maine spending time with the Cootie Queen herself, Ms. Sheila Tubman. Peter is anything but happy about the summer plans, but it really doesn't turn out TOO bad. This book will keep you laughing all the way to the last page. So read it, it'll really be worth it!

Summary: My favorite Judy Blume book!
Review: When I read Fudg-A-mania I never wanted to stop! My favorite part was when Tootsie walks over the painting and Mr. Fargo says "itsy bitsy baby feet". I recomend this book to every kid that has a younger brother.
