Rating: Summary: Bible in Pictures '80's printing editions Review: Excellent book. The artwork is incredible. I remember the pictures from 20+ years ago. I lost my childhood copy so I was thrilled when I could replace it with one that looked exactly like the one I had. This is an excellent book for younger children because of the short stories(only one paragraph) and the artwork tells so much of the story too. It takes the bible and puts it at a level a little one can understand. There are even questions at the end of each story so you can talk about it with your little ones.
Rating: Summary: Stories to enlighten even young children. Review: I actually still have the version of this book my mother read to me as a child. She must have started reading it to me when I was only three years old. Quite possibly this book started me on my way to finding God. I never forgot the stories or the painting style pictures. The pictures in fact fascinated me, and I remember looking through the book on my own at an early age.The language in this book is in simple words, yet teaches great truths. This was the source of light to me as a child. Basically, this is a book of stories from the Bible in language very young children can understand. I quote: King Solomon built this new house. Do you know who he made it for? It is God's house. It took a long time to build it because it is so nice. Solomon is glad because he could make this beautiful house for God to live in. I Kings 6:11-14 1. Whose house is this? 2. Is Solomon glad? Not only are the stories understandable, children will enjoy answering the questions, pointing to items in the pictures and even possibly reading parts of the story themselves. When I read my "adult" Bible, I sometimes wish my version was illustrated as beautifully as this book. At least the pictures are in my mind and remind me of when I first learned the beautiful stories of the Bible. There are so many lessons we can apply to our own lives today.
Rating: Summary: Best Book From My Childhood Review: I am using this book to teach my three year old Bible in the school I do with him in the mornings and it is just the right amount before he tends to want to get up and start something else. He is captivated by the pictures and the way the words flow for his age group. I have finally found a book that is compatible to his age group and at same time teaches the truth in God's Word. I would most definetly recommend mothers and fathers to use this book before bed time or during homeschooling little ones. What a great title: The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes. It really says it all. Sincerely, Another Homeschooling Mom
Rating: Summary: Timeless classic Review: I read many times this book as a child. Almost 40 years later I read and teach to my sons from it. I use it as a teaching tool for children in church. Any person, regardless of age, who reads this book, will a complete knowledge of the basic stories of the Bible. It is fantastic, I highly recommend it for parents, teachers, and any who is just starting to learn about the Bible.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book for parents to share with children Review: I too am an adult who loved this book as a child. I still have my 20+ year old copy to save for my children! I remember my mom would read one story per night. We would then talk about the story and answer the questions at the end together. The pictures are also quite beautiful and are still very helpful to visual learners like myself.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book! Review: This is a fantastic book. The artwork is simply beautiful - enchanting, actually - and the Bible stories are told in a simple yet engaging style. For the last year, my 3 1/2 year old has consistently asked for this book far more than any others. We read it every night before going to bed, and it is the first thing he asks for in the morning. He repeatedly tells us it is his favorite book.
