Summary: Very inspirational
Review: First of all, I love it when you have to use your imagination in a story and E.B. White is a wonderful story-teller. Whenever I read this book, I think of lazy summer nights by the campfire and someone telling this story to sleepy-eyed children, while the lightening bugs flicker and owls hooting in the distance. It's a great story for all ages.

Louis is born without a voice. He is a Trumpeter Swan and he must have a voice otherwise he won't be able to mate someday. He went to school with his friend, Sam Beaver, and learned to read and write. But that didn't help because none of the other swans knew how to read and write. So his father decided to steal a trumpet for Louis so Louis can "talk." And the adventures for Louis begin as he works all across the USA to pay for the stolen trumpet and the damages to the store. Along the way, Louis finds his true love again and they get married.

It's a wonderful story about courage, honesty and bravery. Louis braved strange places and made himself a living to earn money to pay back his father's debts. It's a deeply imaginative story as well ~~ you can almost see the mist rising off the small pond in Canada in the early sunrise.

No matter how old you are, you are never too old to read this rich story. It's written for everyone who has an imagination. It's a must-read for serious readers ~~ it stays with you for a life-time!

Summary: The Trumpet of the Swan
Review: I recommend this book to any reader seeking adventure, fantasy, and fun. Aside from the fact that Louis the swan really coulkn't play the trumpet or write, it's hard to believe this book is fiction. This is because Louis' romantic feelings for the swan he loves are so realistic. The Trumpet of the Swan is about a young trumpeter swan who sets of to earn money, for his father has stealthily stolen a trumpet to help his son communicate. Louis ends up giving the people of Boston the time of their lives. I definitely think you shoulk read this book, for it is just busting with exitement.

Summary: A story of overcoming adversity
Review: Like most of my favorite books, The Trumpet of the Swan gives children several important lessons. Life isn't always fair. Some have to face obstacles that others don't. With perseverance and a sense of humor, we can deal with what life gives us. We can love and be loved. And sometimes, we need a little help from a friend.

Summary: One of the finest children's books ever written
Review: Often overlooked in favor of CHARLOTTE'S WEB (and probably STUART LITTLE, what with the film coming out), THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN is an unforgettable, poetic and deeply moving story of love, friendship, and most importantly, coming to terms with a disability. I read this book as a child, and years later, can appriciate it on a whole new level. Years after I read this book, I was diagnosed with fine and gross motor disabilities, which made tasks like handwriting very difficult for me. Thanks to computers and the like, I have been able to surpass this problem- and am now actually pursuing an English Major in college. One of the things that helped me over the years was thinking back to this book, with its story of Louis the mute swan, whose father commits a crime to give him a trumpet to let his voice be heard and live some semblance of a normal life- and how Louis, in a quest to repay the world for his father's crime, manages to win the heart of his great love and gain world-wide fame. Written in White's own simple yet profound prose (this is the co-author of THE ELEMENTS OF STYLE, after all), no one who reads this book will ever forget it. This book literally changed my life- buy a copy, and let it change someone else's life as well.

Summary: A Great Book
Review: The Trumpet of the Swan is about a swan named Louis who was born mute. However, he was determined to do something to prove himself. He then asked a friend to help him to learn things that are taught in school. His parents were still not satisfied because they still could not communicate with their son. It was Louis's father who did a great sacrifice to help his son. Louis wanted to clear his father's debts and so he ecountered many adventures. However, what he wanted most was to have Serena (a beautiful female swan) for his wife. Did he succeed? Read this book and you will find out.

This book is a little touching and very exciting.

Summary: Trumpet of the Swan
Review: The Trumpet of the Swan starts out with a young boy named Sam. He is much more different then his fellow family members. He walks differently, and even talks differently! One day, he finds a swan in a lake. The swan was named Louis. Louis had many brothers and sisters but they had a special skill that Louis didn't have. Louis was a trumpet swan but couldn't make a single noise for his loved one. The swan he wished to play for was the beautiful swan named Serena. Louis then starts to go to school to learn many new things, but no progress was made. One day, Louis' father gets his a real brass trumpet. With this, he played music very gracefully.
There are many reasons why I like this book. It shows great friendship between Sam and Louis because they are constantly helping one a another. Many characters in this book all have a very kind heart but Louis was the most stunning because he's gone through many tough times just for the ones he love.
Secondly, I also like this book because the main characters were not all human. In this book, one of the main characters is a swan. In other books, you'll mostly always see a human being the main character in the book. This is why I also enjoy this book. When I first see a book where it always talks about a person, i get bored sometimes because those books are so common. Even though the swan may sometimes act like a human it is much more enjoyable to read.

After that Louis earns money to pay for the stolen trumpet. He also wins the heart of his beloved swan Serena.
I really liked this book because it is very interesting. The way E. B. White wrote this book makes you not want to stop. I wanted to finish the book so badly I finished it in a few days. Many of the characters come to life. They are Sam Beaver and Louis the swan. Louis is the main character of this book. Everything about the book has to do with him.
E. B. White's writing is very good. He is one of my favorite authors. ....
My favorite part is when Louis is at Camp Kookooskoos. Many events take place there. At the camp Luis gets his first hundred dollars and his medal for saving Applegate Skinner and when Sam saved the skunk.I liked this part because there is lots of action. Camp is also a very fun outdoor activity. It is good for learning about nature
