Summary: History as it *really* happened
Review: Ben and Me is a biography of Benjamin Franklin, as told by his mouse Amos, a one-time church mouse who came to live with Franklin, specifically in the famous American's wig. The mouse's manuscript was found, edited, and published in 1939 by Robert Lawson, who also illustrated the text. This book was one of my favorites when I was growing up. I read it through countless times, and I spent a lot of time tracing over Lawson's wonderful illustrations. If you want history as it *really* happened, through the eyes of a rodent who was there and who can really write, this is the book for you.

Summary: A Great Book
Review: Have you ever been friend to a mouse? In Ben and Me a mouse named Amos is forced to leave home and live with Ben Franklin.I liked this book and thought that it was very funny. It was also exciting during the mouse wars. An example of were it was funny was during the eletiscity expererment(zap). It was also funny during the mouse wars.I think that young readers everywhere should read Ben and Me if they want laughter, excitment and to know something about Ben Franklin.

Summary: I think this book was funny.
Review: I would recommend this book to everyone because it's all about Ben Franklin's inventions. I think this book was very funny because Amos, the mouse, got tired of fixing his friend's inventions. So he left one electric invention on a chair and an apprentice turned it on and it shocked the Governor on his bottom. I liked the book from Amos' point of view. I also liked how the mouse was helping a man with his inventions. I learned alot about Ben Franklin, for example that he was a soldier. I didn't learn as much about his inventions as I wanted to. I thought the book could have explained more about them. I would liked to have known why Ben made these inventions and what gave Ben the ideas. Overall, I think other children would enjoy this book about Ben Franklin.

Summary: Ben and Me
Review: If you like fun filled educational books, you have got to check out the book Ben and Me, written by Robert Lawson. It is about Ben Franklin and a mouse named Amos. Amos acts like he is a little know-it-all, and Ben is a stupid person. But is that really what happened? You decide. I hope you have as much fun as I did.

Summary: An Interesting Story
Review: The story of Ben and Me is a biography of Benjamin Franklin from the eyes of his pet mouse, Amos. While this book had some facts, it was mostly historical fiction with funny twists. I enjoyed this, yet i seriously doubt that all of Franklin's brilliant ideas were actually thought up by a mouse. This is a good book and have fun reading!

Summary: too juvenille for 5th grade US history
Review: This was a required reading book for my daughter. I read all required reading to be up on it. It seemed juvenille for her to me, then when I gave it to her she read about 3 pages and said this is stupid.
should be assigned to a 3rd grader...if only they taught them US history at the age it would be more reader friendly for.

Summary: An impossibly charming tale!
Review: We used this book as a read aloud for the family, Dad included! It was incredibly funny and the illustrations are superb! It is skimpy on historical data but the charming quality of the tale delivers an unforgettable Ben Franklin....The ever suffering mouse Amos taught the essence of the American character that built this country. Go for it!
