Rating: Summary: The Series Continues to be Interesting. . . Review: Darren Shan is once again successful in continuing to build upon the interest already built up in this addictive series.
This book includes several new plot lines that continue to make the series interesting. It takes a whole lot of talent to continue to create more interest in an extremely satisfying series.
The interaction between Darren and the wolves on vampire mountain is very interesting, and the plot twist, oh the twist. Darren Shan is clever. Although as a reader of the series most things seem predictable, they never happen exactly when or how you expect, and then there is always a great new plot twist!
For those who claim the author is without skill, I say Charna's guts! You just don't get it. This series continues to be all readers can think about until. . .
the next installment--Hunters of the Dusk
I read all 12 books in this series and actually ordered the last 4 from England because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
Shan's unique perspective on vampires makes this series fun for those who like vampire stories and those who do not. Shan is truly talented
Rating: Summary: The Vampire Prince Review: Hey! when i finished this book the first words that came out of my mouth were "wow." The first sentence of this book had me amazed by the book..."Be careful who you trust." This book was a fun filled white nuckle thrilling book. I loved it each step of the way. In this edition of Darren Shan, Darren runs from his fears. Recently, Darren failed his trials and the suspence of that was death. He ran from this penalty and found that his own friend had betrayed him, killing his dear friend and ally Gavner Purl. Darren proves himself to the vampire princes and tells them about the stories he has witnessed they except his noblness and bravery. Read on to find how Darren works his way up to the top of the vampire counsil.
Rating: Summary: review for the vampire prince Review: I thought this book was great i give it 5 stars (thats the most amount).I really really liked it but i think it is annoying that it doesn't come out in paperback sooner! I think people who like horror movies and horror books etc... should read this book, i didn't want to put it down and my mom got mad at me for reading it to much. I told her to read it but she didn't get time yet. READ THIS BOOK AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE CIRQUE DU FREAK BOOKS (IF YOU DON'T READ THE REST OF THE BOOKS IT WON'T MAKE SENSE OTHERWISE.)
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: I would have given this a 4 1/2 if it were possible, but to me this wasnt the best of the series. It was still incredibly good, as are all of the books (minus the forth one). I only gave it four because the book was kind of perdictable. I was only unable to predict one thing that happened in this book, and might i add that twist was incredible. Darren is an amazing writer and I look forward to reading the rest of the books. I definatly recomend this book!

Rating: Summary: The Vampire montain trilogy draws to a close... Review: In a blaze of glory. "the Vmpire prince" concludes the story arc which started with Darrens journey to prove himself to the vampires in "vampire mountain" and continued as he undertook five deadly trials in "trials of death" Now, left for dead, Darren must find a way to re enter Vampire mountain and warn the Generals and princes of the traitor in their midst...and the threat under their very noses! Despite the excitement that builds thoughout the book, it's pace is somewhat slower than Darrens previous outings, and this book is far more political - if it can be called that - showing that nothing is simply black and white and good and bad can often be hard to distinguish. The book is more reflective, despite the tension and battles, and we see the main charater coming towards an emotional maturity, and faceing things, such as death... If you havn't yet read the rest of the serise you must do so first, but if you have you're in for a treat, despite some complex issues the book has shans trademark humor and keeps to its values of friendship, trust and learning. look out for the next book 2huters of the dusk" which opens the most exciteing chapter yet, in the Saga of darren shan...
Rating: Summary: Tyler says "Darren Shan Does It Again" Review: The book The Vampire Prince is the sixth book in Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak saga. Since Shan is an adult now, the whole book is a flashback to his youth.A flashback is when the author describes something from the past. The first five Cirque Du Freak books are filled with action, adventure and violence. Shan's sixth book will not disappoint. The climax of the story is a very graphic war between the vampires and vampanese ( the vampire's enemy). A battle that could decide the fate of both groups. Darren's The Vampire Prince tells about an act of treachery commited by one of the most respected and trusted in the vampire clan. This is irony at it's best. Irony is an unexpected twist in the story. Exposing the traitor may save Darren's life, after he escaped from the Trials of Initiation. The trials were tests to see if Darren would prove himself worthy of being called a half Vampire. If you do not pass the trials you will be taken to the Halls of Death and executed. The great detail, excellent character development and overall extraordinary writing of author Darren Shan will leave you not only satisified, but begging for more. A great book and you don't even have to read the first five books in the series to understand The Vampire Prince. Thanks to a prologue, you will get caught up on all five books in only three pages. Check it out!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A thrilling mystery Review: Trust authority. Trust tradition. Trust the wisdom of the older vampires. Darren Shan knows he is supposed to follow these lessons, but in his current position, caught in a violent tide coursing through Vampire Mountain, he's having a difficult time trusting anyone or anything. He has just witnessed the murder of his friend and advisor Gavner Purl at the hands of the Vampire Prince Kurda Smahlt. While hiding with the wolves that rescue him from near-certain death, Darren puts the pieces of the Kurda puzzle together. He figures that Kurda, working in league with the enemies of the vampires, the vampaneze, is going to betray all the vampires and the Vampire Princes and allow the vampaneze to access the Stone of Blood. With the Stone of Blood, the vampaneze will have the power to find and kill almost every vampire in the world. Darren knows he's the only one who can stop Kurda, but how will he do it? From the heart-pounding introduction through the twist at the end that brings Darren into a whole new way of vampire life, Shan never gives Darren, or the reader, a second to relax. While this book is not recommended for those who have not read previous books in the series, regular readers of Darren's saga will be intrigued by the mystery and the way characters are revealed. There is the trademark blood and gore here, but it takes second chair to Darren's growth and discoveries. Warning: Some readers may require a tissue at the end. --- Reviewed by Carlie Webber
