Summary: enjoyable
Review: A friend gave this book to my infant daughter and she absolutely adores it. I thought that at 3 1/2 months, she was too young for it but read it to her one day and she listened to the entire thing, enthralled. The sing-song lyrics and bright pictures capture and keep her attention. She is excited whenever I bring it out. The only complaint I have is the rather patriarchal language of the book. God is always "He" and the Daddy goes away while the Mommy sings songs and rubs the child's back. Otherwise the book is great.

Review: DESIGNED BY GOD SO I MUST BE SPECIAL is a colorful, positive book that will truly make your child feel special and build his/her self confidence.My daughter really loves the pictures and hearing about how God blessed her with so many gifts that we as adults may sometimes take for granted (our sense of sight, hearing, touching and smelling [taste was not included] and more.) This is really a 4 1/2 star book only because God's name is mentioned only on the cover, dedication page (above title) and the first page of the book. The rest of the pages start with "HE", however, this is easily remedied. When I read it to my daughter I just add "GOD" to each page and it works perfectly. In my opinion that is the only flaw in the book. If I am running late putting my daughter to bed, I've found that the story is just as charming if I read only the first paragraph on each page (it has 3.) Also DESIGNED BY GOD SO I MUST BE SPECIAL is a great training tool to teach your child objects from the book. I say "where's the: flower, butterfly, cloud, dog, cat, bunny, frog, fish, rainbow, bird, bees, bed, bathtub, sun, tree," etc. and my daughter will search for the object and point to it. I must include the last page of the book for you so you'll know what you are missing if you don't own this: "HE GAVE ME MY SPIRIT SO THAT I COULD KNOW THAT HE'S ALWAYS BESIDE ME EVERY PLACE THAT I GO. TO LOVE ME, PROTECT ME, TO SHOW ME THE WAY, TO BE THERE IN HARD TIMES AS WELL AS EACH DAY. HE DESIGNED ME WITH SPECIAL TALENTS, GIFTS AND ABILITIES YOU SEE, WHICH LET ME KNOW THAT HE HAS SOMETHING SPECIAL IN MIND FOR ME." I highly recommend this VERY SPECIAL book for home and the church library. You won't be disapppointed.

Review: I love God! I love the pretty pictures in this book too--all the colors in the rainbow! I hope I can draw that good someday! Ok, Mommy is helping me cuz I can't read or write yet but I'm trying to learn by listening and watching her do it! Mommy reads me this book and I love the pictures but I love God the most because He made so many wonderful things in His creation for me to enjoy! Plus He gave me my eyes so I can see, my ears so I can hear, my nose to smell with, my skin to feel with, my body to freely walk around with ; also God gave me my mind to dream with and my heart to feel and love with. Mommy says all those things are great but having a Spirit is the best because it means I get to live with Him and Jesus forever and ever some day in Heaven! I am going to have a wonderful life on earth and a blissful eternity with Jesus and God in Heaven! Oh what a wonderful, happy book! I love it and so will you! Bye-bye!

Review: My son LOVES the bright colors and all the items he can pointto. He was only a few months old when this book became one of hisfavorites because of the colors. I enjoy reading it to him because it reinforces how God has made him unique and special - a one of a kind.

Summary: I don't think that there are TWO Gods!!!
Review: My two-year-old nephew wanted me to read this wonderful book for the umpteenth time. I just happened to notice the copyright page that stated that the book came in two versions: a "Caucasian" one and an "Afro-American" one. When I bought this copy two years ago at my school's book sale, it never crossed my mind that there would be an edition different from the one that I purchased. I just fell in love with the storytelling. The inspired poetry and vivid illustrations are so engaging that the book would appeal to ANY child, regardless of his/her ethnicity. The only "need" for the different "interpretations" may be to satisfy an adult's narrow focus of the world.

Review: The colors, pictures and text in this book are awesome. It's easy for kids to understand and my daughter loves the colors! This is my traditional Christening gift and all of my friends have loved it!

Review: This was one of the very first books my now 3 year old daughter received when she was born. We have read it to her almost every night since. She loves it! Now she's pretty much memorized it. I buy it for everyone I know who is having a baby.
