Rating: Summary: Tuck Ever Lasting Review: Tuck Ever LastingThis book is about a young girl Winnie Foster and her meeting an acquaintance with a family that shares an important secret. Winnie decides early one morning to take a walk in a wood her family owns. As she walks she comes to a boy name Jesse Tuck. Jesse and Winnie talk when finally Jesse's family comes, and Kidnaps Winnie. Winnie ends up in the Tucks temporary home. Jesse's mom and dad Mae and Angus explain to Winnie why they kidnapped her, which has a effect on a serious secret the Tucks share, that know one can reveal. I think Winnie Foster's perspective on life changed a lot throughout the book. I also feel I have a different perspective on life. In the book I really enjoyed how mentally fast Winnie grew up. I think Natalie Babbitt the author, tried to tell readers that it's not so bad to live for a certain time, and if you didn't die how hard it would be to live. I liked this book because of how the author made the characters thoughts be real. It was very well written, and had many imaginative events.
Rating: Summary: Reveiw on Tuck Everlasting Review: Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit has been one of my favorite books since I first read it when I was six. It stars a ten year old girl named Winnie Foster who runs away from home into the wood that her family owns. She sees a young boy named Jesse drinking from a stream and talks to him. When she asks for a drink from the stream he becomes uncomftorable and tries to talk her out of it. When Jesse's mom Mae and his brother Miles come with their old horse, they kidnapp her. I gave this book five stars because it is very well written and very original. I whould recomend this book to everyone over the age of seven. Young children may not understand some parts of the book, or some of the words used. My favorite character in Tuck Everlasting is Winnie Foster. I can relate to Winnie in many ways, she has mostly the same personality as I do and I think age ten is a terrific age to have the main character. In my opinion, Tuck Everlasting is an extraordanary book.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: Tuck Everlasting is opne of those books that stays with you always. I know it did for me. I read it three years ago, and yet it still haunts me with its theme: what is immortality really worth? Why are we here? The story is deceptively simple: Winnie Foster is a ten-year-old girl who one day discovers that people who can live forever are living on her land. They are the Tucks, and they gained their immortality by drinking from a spring that is also on Winnie's family's land. They welcome Winnie, who soon becomes comfortable in their presence. All is not well, however. The Man in the Yellow Suit, as he is known, is a sinister character who knows the Tuck's secret and wants to exploit it for money. When he comes to confront the Tucks, something dreadful happens, and Winnie is thrown into a chain of events that will ultimately force her to decide between immortality and death. This is a beutifully written book. Ms. Babbit's prose is gorgeous, often flowling like poetry. She elgantly and ably handles a subject (namely, death and immortality) that has stumped many authors before her. The book is haunting and poigant, and will stay with you forever. If you are looking for a new classic, look no further. Tuck Everlasting is a book that trancends generations and unites us with its timeless themes and classic writing.
Rating: Summary: Tuck Everlasting Review Review: Winnie Foster runs away one day, only to find herself kidnapped. She finds out of a great, but horrible secret. She falls in love, the family that takes her is nice, and she has all other things on her mind. she can't figure out if she wants to be like them.
Tuck is a story that is somewhat stupid, but is one of the best written books i have ever read. now since the title says "... everlasting" well the family is everlasting. i dont want to give anything big away, though. if you can pick things out of a book, this is the one for you. it is very descriptive, has once again lots of symbolic meaning, and the characters just pull you into the book. please read it.
