Summary: Comprehensive guide for Understanding Children's Literature
Review: This textbook is extremely pratical as a guide to learning about the various types of children's books. It gives excellent insights on Picture books, novels, biographies/autobiographies, historical fiction, traditional fiction, realistic fiction and poetry, and multicultural children's literature, just to name a few. This book is well constructed, in that its chapters are very short, yet packed with very important and interesting content. This book also a large listing award winning books (i.e caldecott winners, Newberry winners, Coretta Scott King winners) from every genre that is mentioned. This book would be extremely practical for librarians, school teachers, and professors who are teaching children's literature courses.
