Summary: Second child, second first year calendar....
Review: A friend gave me this calendar along with the Museum of Art's baby journal. I have enjoyed them both and highly recommend them, especially for second-time parents. Second-time parents will enjoy how easy it is to make a detailed keepsake for their next child. It is a beautiful calendar and it does not have any ethnic or religious specific artwork, so it is a great gift for any pregnant woman you know.

Summary: i love this calendar
Review: Eveyone who sees this calendar hanging on my daughter's wall goes nuts over it. The art work is sweet and simple, the stickers colorful and varied, and the space ample for those of us who have too much time on our hands. Instead of trying to fill in a cumbersome baby book with details that really didn't interest me, I filled the calendar with baby milestones as well as current events. I've even had friends and family sneak their own contributions to the calendar when I wasn't looking--should be fun for my daughter to look back on when she gets older. There's also plenty of space to write observations, books we're reading, sounds she's making, eating and sleeping habits, etc. After receiving a few too cutsy calendars and way too hip baby books (and checking in stores and on-line myself) I found this to be exactly what I was looking for.

Summary: The Best Baby Journal, period
Review: I bought this for myself for my second child and have been giving it out to new mothers ever since: it has the most charming illustrations on any baby calendar without being overly saccharine. For a second child it is the easiest way to mark milestones for a parent busy with the lives of other children. It has become a treasured keepsake and my daughter loves to leaf through it and marvel at her development 14 years ago!

Summary: Second child, second first year calendar....
Review: I first reviewed this when my son was five months. Now he is 3 years old, my daughter is 10 months, and we love our calendars more than ever! At the end of my son's first year, we decided that this calendar was so wonderful that I made up a similar one using my computer and a local printing store to produce a second year calendar. I've just printed out a fourth year calendar for my son and will do the same for my daughter when she grows out of this calendar (I make calendars now for all of my friends whose kids are over one). Keeping a calendar helps you to remember the many details of raising a baby or young child that you would definitely forget otherwise. The types of things that you write in a calendar are different than those you'd record in a baby book, which is generally milestone-based (I keep both). Best of all, keeping a calendar is so easy. I try to put aside ten minutes or so once or twice a week to update both of my kids' calendars. At the end of each month, my husband and I fill out the monthly overview which includes things like what your baby ate, how she slept, books read, songs sang, likes, dislikes, etc. We've had a lot of fun looking back at my son's first year calendar and comparing notes with our daughter's first year of life, especially since they are so different. I've looked at other calendars but really prefer this one for its organization and design. Buy it for a gift for an expectant parent or for yourself BEFORE the birth of your baby.

Summary: The prettiest calendar
Review: I got this calendar for my little girl, and I absolutely love it. The pictures in it are from a french baby-journal published in 1914, but are not the least outdated, just cute and pretty.
My only mistake was getting it when my daughter was ten months old, it's hard to remember all the milestones "backwards". Buy it (or put it on your wishlist) while you're still pregnant.

Summary: Wonderful Record Book for New Baby
Review: I loved this calendar because it makes it so easy to keep track of baby's "firsts". After loving the one I had for my first child, I got one for my second child when she was born - by then my older child was 4. Then I was able to compare the timing of their first sitting, crawling, bath etc. very easily. When you are too busy to fill out a conventional baby book - this one is great!

Summary: i love this calendar
Review: I received this calendar as a gift just before the birth of my son. He is now five months old and this calendar, which I LOVE, has copious notes of his life thus far. It has allowed me to keep track of his milestones and development in a very easy way. It was particularly useful during the first four months when I could only write little bits at a time due to acute DeQuervain's tendinitis. The calendar is attractive, especially if you are like me and shun cutesy, pastel-laden baby goods, and I found the layout and the stickers to be very well organized and user-friendly. I would recommend buying some high quality permanent ink pens (e.g. Staedtler) in a couple of different colors (black, blue, red and green) and thicknesses (.05 mm and .5 mm). It's nice to have the ultrafine pens to write small notes into the calendar. I am going to buy this for all my friends who are pregnant. It is definitely something you want to get BEFORE you have your baby.
