I catch him "reading" it on his own almost every day, going through the pages one by one and lifting the flaps to see what's underneath.I think the magic of Dinosaur's Binkit is that it's both exciting and soothing at the same time. The flaps with hidden pictures keep even young babies interested and yet the language is very rhythmic and soothing and, thus, great for a bedtime story. As an added plus, the flaps help babies develop eye-hand coordination and small motor skills as they figure out how to lift the flaps themselves. The only problem I've had with this book is getting my son to put it down. All in all, it's a triumph for introducing babies to the wonderful surprises books can hold.

Review: I think most children will fall in love with this book simply because they can relate, even at a very young age. My youngest has her favorite "binkit" (and her favorite dinosaur, her favorite pillow, etc.), and she loves to read this story. The words are pretty simple too, so she memorized the text right away, always offering to read the dinosaur's parts. In short, it's a fun and easy book for both parent and child (like all Boynton books).

What's a dinosaur to do? This sweet little book is so much fun for a little one's bedtime story. You can feel the shiny moon, lift the flaps to see what Dinosaur is doing, and eventually, touch the soft "binkit" that he has been looking for. We just love Boynton's books and have been reading them to our daughter since birth (we're amused by them). Dinosaur's Binkit is now becoming a part of her bedtime routine along with Boynton's Going to Bed book.

It is a nice, soothing bedtime story with great illustrations and very amusing text. Young children will particularly enjoy the inter-active elements - pop ups, multi-media art - they give them a real chance to participate in the story. Boynton's the best!

She usually gets bored with lift-the flap books after a few times, but she's been carrying this one around with her all week.
