Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: I bought this for my three year old, dinosaur-loving nephew. My sister called me the day after his birthday to tell me that she "had" to read it 50 times already. He loves it - I guess that's all that matter's, right?
Rating: Summary: My son's ALL-TIME favorite Review: I was a little disappointed to learn that this book didn't come as a board book, because my son can be a little rough with turning the pages. However, the illustrations are beautiful, so I understand why it is only available in hardcover. That being said, my 19-month old has actually learned to be GENTLE in turning the pages with this one, and it is a story that he wants to hear every night without fail. Fortunately, it is one book I don't mind reading over and over and over and over and over . . .
Rating: Summary: AWESOME! Daughter can't go to bed without reading this book Review: This book has so many attributes that it is hard to get them all in. We use it for many different things as we slip off to bed. We review the steps of getting ready for bed as we see the dinosaur in the bath tub and ask, "Let's see, did you take your bath?"...then dinosaur with his blanky heading off to bed, "do you have your blanky?".After reading the text of the book (which is an absolute joy as we stomp and ROAR and mope and moan at appropriate times and hugging and kissing at the end), we review the activities of the dinosaurs on the back inside cover (and front too). We ask, "which dinosaur has a train?, Which donosaur is sleeping?, etc.". Great to get their little minds recognizing and identifying different activities. Would recommend this book to anyone and everyone - would be a great gift item as well.
Rating: Summary: My daughter loves it!!! Review: I got this book about a month ago and my 2 year old daughter absolutely loves it. This is by far her favorite book. She cannot go to sleep without being read this book. What has really surprised me is she can recite some words on each page. This is a very cute book and I recommend it to any parent who is having a hard time getting their child to bed.
Rating: Summary: A book to make bedtime a little easier. Review: This book is now a favorite of my two and half year old daughter. She asks me to read it to her at least once a day. The premise of the story is to show the proper way to say goodnight. The first half of the book shows dinosaurs acting up at bedtime (hmm kind of reminds me of my daughter) and the second part shows dinosaurs saying goodnight nicely. The pictures of the dinosaurs really crack her up. She loves the opening picture of the dinosaur in the tub and the one of the dinosaur holding a toy train. The pictures are so charming that I am sure they will have adults smiling too. The text is simple enough for a small child to memorize and the names of the dinosaurs are included on the page with their picture to provide even more learning oppurtunities. This book has made my daughter so crazy for dinosaurs that I intend to take her to a dinosaur exhibit at our local science museum. The best part of this book is that it has actually made my daughter go to bed with less resistance. When she starts to act up I just quote a line or two from the book and she settles right down. Last night she told me "goodnight mama dinosaur." We love this book.
Rating: Summary: Does a Dinosaur Roar? Review: Great book for my 3 1/2 year old son. He loves the colorful pictures and the story is simple enough that he has most of it memorized. In particular, he enjoys pointing out the little details such as one of the dinosaurs is holding a train in his hands, another one has a teddy bear. I think it's easy for my son to relate to the story since the dinosaurs depicted in the book have similar toys as he does. Highly recommended for preschoolers and anyone else who doesn't like saying good-night right away before going to sleep.
Rating: Summary: A great story for any age Review: This is a wonderful book. Every page has the name of the dinosaur somewhere within the bedroom. And they are also all pictured with the name below on the first and last pages of the book. It starts off with "How do dinosaurs say goodnight when (and it is papa the first half of the book and then mama) comes in to turn off the light?" The dinosaurs are in bed and are basically large children and how they either will or won't want to go to bed, i.e "fall on his covers and cry?" or "stomp hisfeet on the floor and shout I want to hear one book more." All actions that any person who has read a child a bedtime story can relate too. Every child that I know has this book and loves it. You can enjoy reading it for it is basically simple reading that a child learning to read can memorize and tell you the story. Or sometimes they will just make up new actions to go along with the beautifully illustrated pictures. And the whole time they can learn all the dinosaurs. I think that this is a must for every in house library. Any kid will love it!
Rating: Summary: Great Book!! Review: I have two little Dinosaurs. My one year old loves the big color pages and the three year old has the book memorized and "read" along with us. Wonderful, Wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: Story Time Crowd Pleaser! Review: This is an excellent bedtime book for young children, as well as a great read aloud book for a library or preschool. The premise of the book, dinosaurs acting just like human children at bedtime, appeals to the sense of humor of young children. The illustrations show huge dinosaurs throwing tantrums, giving goodnight kisses and curling up in their tiny, child-sized beds. Other fun elements include pet dogs, human parents and their own childish artwork displayed on their bedroom walls. A completely charming book.
Rating: Summary: A Dinosaur Delight! Review: This delightful dinosaur book was an instant hit around our house. My 3 year old grandson, who is going through an intense "all things dinosaur" phase, is facinated by the enchanting illustrations of various dinos resisting bedtime. He thinks it's funny that these dinos employ some of the same tactics he uses to try to delay the inevitable bedtime scenario.
