Rating: Summary: Punchinello Through A Child's Eyes Review: I am not a reader by nature but when I heard this story read, I ran to the nearest book store to purchase it. More than what I cared to pay for a book, I purchased it anyway and I found it to be a wonderful addition to our home. The illustrations are beautiful and follow the story so well that my 3-year-old can tell me the story by looking at the pictures. Her most favorite part is when Punchinello visits the Woodcarver. Each and every time we read it, my heart is humbled and I am reminded to be a nicer person and not to judge others. It is a beautiful story about our Maker and the love he has for all of his children. Read this and enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Sweet Review: I loved this book because it teaches you that it doesn't matter what other people think or say about other people. You are still very special to GOD. Things only have an effect when you pay attention to them. So, it doesn't matter what they think. What GOD thinks is much more important!
Rating: Summary: A perfect tale for any perfectionist. Review: This is a simple, yet thought-provoking, story for any believer, like me, who finds herself habitually caught in the trap of trying to be good enough. It is a sweet reminder to us of the fact that the only opinion that matters at all is that of our Maker. And while He knows exactly what we are like, in every way, His view of us is skewed by the incredible love that He has for us. I recommend this story for children and grown-ups, anyone who needs to know that it's ok to not be perfect.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: this book is so precious. i think it makes you look at how you look at people sometimes by judging them. this is a perfect children's book because it teaches kids to not only not judge people by their cover, but also they shouldn't worry about what they look like to others. be yourself.
Rating: Summary: This book IS for all special people out there. Review: Max Lucado is truly blessed when he writes! This book is a great way of getting the message across to children that they are special in God's eyes and that is what counts. The world labels us with stars and dots but thanks to our maker, he doesn't label us but loves us for who we are. I encourage all parents and teachers, who love their children, to read this book to them.
Rating: Summary: This book is not just for children! Review: I've read Max Lucado's book a number of times but it wasn't until just recently that I was able to fully comprehend it's powerful message. Too many times I forget that my identity doesn't lie in who I am or what I do or even what I've done. My identity lies in the fact that I am a beloved child of God. What He thinks of me should be all that matters. Instead of letting others decide whether I receive stars or dots, I should be visiting with my Maker daily and living as His beloved.
Rating: Summary: A touching tale spoken from the heart Review: An inspirational teacher read to me along with 25 otheraspiring student teachers this book to convey her feeling to ourclass. We all knew that she was very inspirational and we all wantedto be like her. She read us this book and we were truly touched. She compared our class as being so very special to her to that of the sad Wemmick and his creator. I bought the book to celebrate her contributions to us and I give it to very special people in my life. Thank you to Max Lucado for touching and linking our lives together.
Rating: Summary: A moving story reminding us of God's healing love Review: This is a wonderful book, for adults and children alike. I volunteer each summer at a camp for abused and neglected children. Every year, during training, our director reads this book to all the staff and counselors as a reminder of the profound effects of abuse and neglect, as well as the healing power of God's love. There isn't a dry eye in the house when she's done.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful lesson for both children and adults.... Review: When reading this for an education class, I was touched by the lesson this book teaches. That we are all special, each and every one of us. I think it is beneficial for both children and adults to give this a read because as adults, we often criticize ourselves too harshly and we forget that God loves us just the way we are. It is good for children because it shows them that people different or not as talented or more talented than they are are no more or less worthy of love than they are.
Rating: Summary: A beautiful story about how to trust God's love for us. Review: It is a wonderful illustration of our special relationship to our Creator. It touches and reaches the hearts of many who are hurt by the hurtful marks of others. It truly depicts a perception of how God our Creator loves and cares for His own.
