Rating: Summary: The Title Says It All!!! Review: This is a wonderful book. I bought one for my mother with whom I am estranged. I bought one for my dad with whom I am also estranged. I bought the childrens edition ... for my son for his 11th birthday--in addition, I also gave him the two sequels "You Are Mine" and "If Only I Had A Green Nose." I will definitely buy all three of these for each of my two older children (15 & 14) as it is definitely a story for everyone young and old! I highly recommend this book for those who are in mid-life crisis, or anyone broken emotionally and spiritually!
Rating: Summary: We All Need This Book Review: I can't tell you how important it is to have a relationship with God. He loves us unconditionally. If parents would just take the time to teach children that God is so essential to their every day....What a better world we could live in.
Rating: Summary: You Are Special Review: This is a great book! I didn't care what it cost after I read it. My Daughter is 4 - I just read it to her for the first time tonight. I'm not sure if she quite understands all of it yet, but she got the main idea. It explains how we are ALL special in God's eyes - and it does it in the most amazing way! I can't say enough about how wonderful this book is. It makes your heart feel good. Thank you Max Lucado.

Max Lucado has a lot of wonderful books out there that are just as wonderful. You are Special is a book about wooden people called Wemmicks. It really relates to everyday life. Rating: Summary: YOU ARE SPECIAL Review: A beautiful book, which if allowed, will sooth the heart and soul of anyone who as ever felt they don't fit in, what ever their age. ...Someone in ... public school as the good sense to choose the wonders of a simplistic story that has more power than you are aware of.
Rating: Summary: You Are Special Review: Although this book is geared to young children, I've purchased it for very many adults and keep a copy close to read every now an then. It is a story we should all keep in mind. There are so many, many wonderful books and poems that have been written, however, this book is always at the top of my list as my favorite book. The simplicity and honesty of it wins my heart every time. My children, ages 11 and 14, both enjoy it and for the 14 year old I try to reinforce it weekly because it is a tough age and the message is so fundamental. The story is a blessing!
Rating: Summary: You Are Special IS Special Review: In a town full of wooden people called Wemmicks, the townspeople spend their days placing stars on those persons who are beautiful, talented and physically skilled. Those who have chipped paint, rough wood, or who are ugly, clumsy or untalented get gray dots instead of stars. Punchinello gets only gray dots and is very sad and lonely. One day he meets a Wemmick named Lucia who has no stars OR dots and he wants very much to be like her. Meeting his maker allows Punchinello to realize that he, too, is special and needs no stars to prove it. This book affirms the worth and dignity of the special child within each of us. A loving gift to all who read it.
Rating: Summary: wonderful, positive reinforcement that is ok to be different Review: this book encorages us to accept ourselves as we are no made what others think because only waht One thinks is important. Agreat story for kids who feel that don't quite fit in
Rating: Summary: Confidence Builder Review: This book has a wonderful message from God for children in a delightful story. It's a real confidence builder by teaching children to be themselves and receive unconditional love. I hope all children have a chance to hear or read it and never let the dots or stars stick!
Rating: Summary: This book rates 5+++ Review: What a wonderful way to tell a child about the love Jesus has for us. This book was given to my child and I in turn have given it as gifts to many others. It tells the delightful story of Punchinello, a Wemmick, who didn't think very highly of himself until he met his maker, Eli the wood carver. Eli tells Punchinello that it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of him, because Punchinello is special to Eli and it was Eli that had made him. How true of our living God, we are all special to Him because He made us.
