Summary: Entertaining, has a hypnotic effect
Review: A great book for children even younger than the recommended 4-8 years of age. My son enjoys watching the movement on the pages while I sing to him. A must have for a child's library.

Summary: Please reprint this book before my daughter wears hers out!!
Review: An exceptionally well-crafted and illustrated book. My 17 month old daughter would read it all day long if we let her. We had to put it on a shelf in a closet so she can't reach it, but every time she wants to read she opens the door and points to the shelf saying "boooos boook". She now even says, "pees" (please) to make her plaintive request more compelling. Her tiny hands love the moving parts (especially the crying babies!) and her voice mimics the sounds of the action words. Great source of diversion, comfort, and repetition for her, and an invaluable source of cuddle time for mom and dad! Dutton books - please reprint this gem.

Summary: another child.... another copy
Review: Before my first child was born, I was given The Wheels on the Bus as a shower gift. The mother who gave it to me said it was her son's favorite book. In time, my daughter came to love it, and treated it like her security blanket. We bought her a second copy and it has seen hard use. Now our second child prompts the thought; another book? or should I buy two to save time!

Summary: The Wheels on the Bus: The Traditional Song
Review: I am an English teacher at a Chinese preschool. I read this book to my four year olds and they absolutely loved it! They had never heard the song, but after a few pages, they were singing "All over town." They were captivated by each page and couldn't wait for me to read it again. This book is an excellent visual aide for teaching concepts like "up and down" and "in and out." The students liked the book so much that they wanted a copy for their classroom, to read it over and over.

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: I bought an older version of this book at a thrift shop - (...) My daughter loves it, and when I left her a few minutes ago she was moving the baby's arms singing "wah, wah, wah" (the baby on the bus goes wah wah wah...)

She tore out the mother on the bus, so I am keeping the book up high except to read.

(...). It's a great gift book. The pages are sturdy, too.

Summary: Fun at every turn of the page! Read again, read again mommy
Review: I bought this book for my 22-month old son on our trip to London this past June. He absolutely loves it! I found it by accident at a children's store there called Trotters. We were actually looking for shoes at the time. When I picked up the book and casually showed it to him, he did not want to put it down anymore. He just kept turning the wheels and saying "round and round" The book is beautifully and cleverly illustrated. Each page is packed of every day life scene made to be fun by the moving parts! We read this book at least twice a day now (it used to be 4-5 times a day!)and he never gets tired of it. He always seems to find something new and interesting every time we read it. He now loves the summary page at the end of the book and the page where everyone gets off the bus to go to the library and my son would say "Don't forget the cat." I know that this book is out of print; however, I'm happy to share that it is available through amazon.com.uk! I'm buying another one for our next child, I don't think this one will make it. Thanks Amazon.com!!

Summary: A classic - loved by both my kids!!
Review: I bought this book in 1996 for my then-1 yr. old son who LOVED this book. It was a special "lap" book (sit on mommy's lap and be gentle with the book). My 2 y.o. daughter loves it as well and was a little rough on it when she discovered it in the book pile.

I also bought Zelinsky's Knick Knack Paddywhack and it's even better!

Summary: Absolutely delightful
Review: I first bought this book for my 10 year old son in 1993. I still have the book, although it is worn and tattered. The pages are colorful and interactive, and if you study the book, you will see the passengers on the bus have their own "story" to tell as they ride the bus. You can't help but to sing the story as you read. The movable parts survived my son's handling pretty well, but now it is time for a brand new one for my brand new twins. The only thing that changed in 10 years, though slightly, is the cover. It's sparkly now.
